My commercial cool air conditioner goes off after 5 min. The stop light is flashing? I can't get it to go on?

It's going thru the defrost cycle. Once that ends, the unit should restart. If it doesn't wait until 3 minutes have elapsed, after the stop light goes out and restart the unit. If that fails, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & unplug the unit. Wait 15 minutes, plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The unit should have reverted back to the original factory settings. If so, reset the controls as you like.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Cool air comes out when the heat turns on. When I switch to Em heat, warm air comes out. Over the summer the air worker great, however when I switched to heat on the thermostat, cool air came out. Why?

Check the following. 1. Your setting temp must be higher +3 than room temp. 2. Check heating sensor.3. And also heater element.(If it's reversal valve, checke RV is working)

Chilled air flow is changing to warm air flow periodically, approx. 3-4 min chilled then 3-4 min warm as ambient air temp.

Sounds like a classic floating restriction. An A/C unit with a leak on the low pressure side can **** in moisture which is then pumped through the system, as it goes through the metering device, typically a capillary (very thin) tube, it freezes, creating a blockage. The discharge air warms, the ice melts and circulates again. During the circulation, you get cool air.

The problem could also be electrical. A faulty overload device or the compressor in the process of failure, could give these symptoms. Best thing to do is shut it off and have a pro take a look. If it is a window unit, look for a local refrigeration school to check it out. THey will often do the repair for the cost of the parts.

My Air Conditioner does not get cold after I turned it off and turned it back on. I have now turned the themostat off about 20 mins ago

Air conditioners need a few mins to stabilize (the fluid in the lines) after they are shut off in the middle of operation. The comperssor will normally time out for several mins after it shuts off (or you shut it ofF) preventing it from coming back on within that time. So if you turn it off, and then right back on, you can expect warm air for several mins untill it times out.

Cant get air compressor to kick on. did turning it off and on withoutn waiting affect it?

I don't think that not waiting the 3 min period would hurt it to the point of not working. my guess is that the thermostat is bad/broken. Another possibility could be the wiring has come loose or been chewed through (depending on where it is stored for the winter) if you are mechanically and technically inclined pop off the cover and have a look always making sure it is unplugged... if you cant resolve the issue and it is under warranty return it to the store if possible or the manufacturer for repair/replacement. also I wouldn't mention not waiting 3 min between power cycles if you send it back as i don't see that being the cause of the problem.

My AC is not cooling the air

Hello
Welcome to fixya.
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,

You said, it is not blowing cool air after you emptied the tank.

Turn the unit off and unplug it for 5 minutes.............
Then back in with the plug and turn it on max cool.
Give it 5 or 10 minutes to get cold, and we will see if this procedure has reset the system.
Then get back to me and let me know it's working!

How old is the unit?

Please remember to leave a rating before you go!
Thank you Huuum
