Yoy have a VIRUS I am sorry to say

It is a pretty common one and unless you are pretty competatnt at this type of work it does need to go to a pro.

HOWEVER there may be help at hand.

http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

Go there and get a copy of the CD and burn it on a known CLEAN computer.

Set your bad computer to boot from CD and boot from that CD

Use each of the antivirus/abtispyware packages in tunr until you are done

ONLY USE THE CD until you are finished.

Once you are finished set your computer to boot as normal from the hard drive and you should be good to go.

Once you are booting normaslly use add/remove software to un-install any old antivirus software you had and install new. I do NOT repeat NOT reccomend NORTON or MCAFEE

Better are ESET, AVG FREE, NOD, KASPERSKY.

Once you have decent antivirus installed make a back up of your important data for future reference.

Thats should be about all you need to do.

In addition to any anti virus may I also reccomend you get a copy of MBAM either the free or paid version as a suplement to any antivirus.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

This will provide extra coverage in areas most anti virus does not cover.

How can i use my web cam

Your Dell Latitude E6400 laptop comes with a built-in webcam at the top of the LCD screen. This camera can take still pictures and record video for use with video messaging. You can access the camera via a software program already installed on the computer. This program can be accessed right from the desktop screen.

1.Turn on your Dell Latitude and click on the "Start" tab on the main desktop screen. A list of options will appear in a drop-down window.
2.Click "Dell Webcam" from the list of options in the window.
3.Click on "Dell Webcam Center" and the program will open. A capture window will appear on screen. Beneath the capture window will be a control panel.
4.Click on the camera icon to take a still photo.
5.Click on the "Record" button to record video with the webcam.
I hope you find it helpful. Best regards.

I dont know how to install my new lifecam !

Set Up and Use the VX-3000 personal web camera
  • 1 Install the software using the included CD and plug the LifeCam into a free USB port. For desktop use, place the LifeCam on a clear spot on your desk that's free of other objects, including cables. The camera should not be more than an arm's length away from you. For LCD (or similar object) use, push the center part of the camera's base upward, place the camera on the LCD and close the base around the monitor to secure it.
  • 2 Open the device software by clicking the Microsoft LifeCam icon on your Windows desktop. If no such icon exists on your Windows desktop, click "Start," click "All Programs" and locate the Microsoft LifeCam program in the list of programs there. After launching the LifeCam program, look at the image that appears. If necessary, adjust the camera to more precisely reflect your appearance. For best results, try to center the camera image on your head and shoulders.
  • 3 Click the video camera icon on the bottom panel of the LifeCam program to begin video capture. Video will begin recording, and you will see a "Recording Video" message beneath the live video image. To stop recording, press the same icon (the icon will have a red square with a blue background during recording).
  • 4 To begin audio capture, click the microphone icon on the bottom panel. To stop the audio recording, click the same icon (again, it will have a red square with a blue background during recording). To snap a photo, click the camera icon on the bottom panel.
  • 5 Access any of your captured video, audio or image files by clicking the folder on the bottom panel. The VX-3000 also provides the ability to edit video or image files using supported software. After snapping a photo or capturing video, click the "Edit" icon that appears beneath the thumbnail of the captured content.

I cant find a icon on my loptop for the web cam what can i do to get it on

The web cam software should have a listing in you "all programs" folder off the start menu.
click on start, program files or all programs and look in that list for your webcam make name. If you find the program icon, you can left click on it and look for "send", click on send and chose place shortcut on the desktop. Then you won't have to look for it next time.
