Question about Kicker KX Series 04KX1200.1 1200w RMS Monoblock Amplifier
Yes tech guru my kicker one day working next not having any out put to the subs. I took it to the stereo shop and they checked the power supply and everything running 12-14 rms. So what's the problem? should i pulled the amp and sending it to the factory for repair? help me if you think there's a fuse or something i can pull and plug and play again?

if your amplifier has the internal Kicker card dealie "little computer card on the side that you can change out crossover settings and such," Turn off the vehicle, remove this device and make sure the contacts on the card are clean and free from black soot (showing a spark). clean the contacts with a pencil eraser or something hard but soft... and put the little card back in place, start the car again and see if that helps, I used to lose one speaker every once in a while with the same amp. I ended up replacing the module with a different one from my dealer and it worked fine (still does and it's been in my car 6 years). Check that little module. if this doesnt work, while the car is running and the music is "playing" wiggle the card and see if it works sometimes and not others. Likely is the little module.

How man ohms are your subwoofers, how many are there and how do you have them hooked up? It sounds like to me, you had too low of a load for the amp to handle. However, the amp should have automatically shut down and gone into thermal protection mode. Since it didn't it, it overheated and turned into jelly. I hope you have a warranty! Before you try to return it, be sure you meter the ohms of the subwoofers, or they won't honor the warranty. Let me know! Be sure to leave feedback or I don't get paid.

it all depends on the impendance of your subs if u have duel 4ohm or duel 2ohm, 2 duel 4ohm speakers can be wired at 1ohm to the amp, and with a kx1200.1 that would be pushin 2400 peak and 1200rms
if ya have 2 duel 2ohm speaker than you can only wire them to 2ohm and would be pushing 1200 peak and 600 rms with the kx1200, so if you have the duel 4ohm i would go with the kx1200.1 and if u have the duel 2ohm i would go with the hifoncs
