You should wire up a ground wire thats no longer than 3 feet and put it to bare metal cause if the wires should short then at least the amp has more of a chance to not be damaged but i have seen some guys run an amp with no ground wire.

OK here I go again when I turn on my lights to my 93 toy ter.. n press brakes left side works but rt side turns off completely lights work just press brake pedal n rt side off no nothing.no lts at al


Your shorthand was a little confusing to me? Check out the brake lamp wiring. The top wire, green with white tracer is voltage for brake lamp. the bottom wire in the diagram from lamp is ground, white with black tracer. Check voltage when brake is applied and check ground. As far as ground, you could try a redundant ground. Use a jumper wire from ground wire to bare metal spot on chassis, see if it works.

Passenger headlight not working properly


Check and see if your ground wire is grounding properly. I ran a new ground wire right from my engine and works good now. Some times the ground wire is affected by rust if it's grounded to the body itself.

Rf tail light not working


Simple enough to solve really, just extend a wire of the same size as the +12V wires (that go to the bulb socket) either from another working ground wire or from another grounded part of the car (frame, chassis, etc.), to the ground wire common to the sockets.

Once you have a working ground in the tail light, it will complete the 12+ path from thru the lamp and cause it to illuminate as expect again.

I have installed the timer i have 4 wires to go into the 4 zones no wire to go in the master only one zone works??


Do you have ground wires to each station in series? Without the grounds, the other stations will not work. Determine the ground wire at the working station. The power wire will correspond to the color of the wire on the terminal at the controller; the other wire will be the ground. The ground wire should continue to the next station, then next station, and so on.

The brake light and signal light on the rear right side do not work when the brake is pressed or the signal light is engadged... the lights themselves are in working order ... could this be a wiring...


Check the ground wire.The bulb has 2 filaments in it,one for the signal,and the other for the brake.If the ground wire is broken neither will work.ground a test light and check the two hot wires and see if it lights the test light,if it does,there is an open ground.ground the bulb on that side to the vehicle and see if it works.

I have a 1994 silverado, The Heat/ac controls do not work (don't even light up) I have found no blown fuses but have no Idea what else to look for.


computer does not have anything to do with your heater controls. Fuel Pump wiring


If I understand right, I would say the normal ground for the pump is bad.
"I am guessing the pump uses a ground source to start." well, just the normal ground like for any motor, you have the power wire (gray) to the pump, then the ground wire for pump, does it branch off near the tank and find a ground? Or does it go into the tank connector and then routed back somewhere through the wiring harness? Anyway, it has to go to ground somewhere. You have the wiring right it sounds,. just make a good ground source, or find the original ground and repair it.

I changed the blower motor and resistor on my 2005 grand prix and motor still not working-inside fuse is ok..is there another fuse under the hood? What else could be wrong?


doesnt work on all speeds? ck the big purple wire at the blower motor, on high speed, it should have battery voltage, if it does, then check the black wire, it should have "0" volts (or ground it, see if it then works). If the purple wire does not have power then fuse #30 (30 amp) may be bad.If the black wire has more than "0" volts then the ground may be bad or the "blower motor control processor" =( resistor) is bad, or the ground for it is bad. the ground wire ends up at the cross beam behind radio. If you ground the black wire at the resistor, and it works, then you have a bad ground at the wire, behind the radio. Good Luck.

Connect the light blue parking brake wire coming out of the back of the radio to the black ground wire also out of the radio to the black ground wire on the wiring harness.... Basically just ground the parking brake wire.. Itll work, I promise. I have the 7001u.
