Question about Dolphin Maytronics Advantage
My dolphin diagnostic started shutting off after 1/2 hour then later in the season it would shut off after only 5 minutes. If your unit is older like mine (9 years), it could be taking on water in the motor compartment. When I opend the unit, there was water inside and the desicant bag was soaked. I cleaned it all up and let it dry overnight. I plugged it back in an turned it on and it seem to run just fine. So, I sealed it backup and used little silicone to help ensure water proof and it is running full cycles again.
I also think it is not a good idea to flip the machine upside down to run a diag test. If there is water in there you will be soaking the electronics and cause the problem. I did this and after, my dolphin got worse.

It sounds like you might have a problem with the impeller or drive shaft, which are both common problems with these pool cleaners. Clean around your impeller and your wheels, axles, etc. If these do not cure your problem, it is probably an issue with your electrical system.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.
For starters, try the tip I posted here on Fixya, found at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3651526-dolphin_pool_cleaner_wont_start_up. If that is not enough, try our sites FAQ section on Dolphins at www.arrowpools.net. Select the FAQ button then from the drop-down select Dolphin.
If none of this helps your problem could be in the power supply, cable or motor unit. The motor unit is the most likely problem.
It is not recommended you open the cord end that connects to the motor unit as you are breaking the seal for the submersible electronics. For information about sending your unit in for repair use the dolphin form link on the bottom of our site
If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!
