Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a whirlpool and my Ice maker started chunking out ice and water came out the door and warped my wood floor. Pulled out ice maker part 106 626636 and deiced everything. Noticed that the coating on the metal is wearin off. maybe ice is sticking? Installed the ice maker back in and it started the cylce, but no water has come into the tray since I put it back in 2 days ago? Took a piece of wire and tried jumping L and V. Saw a spark but no water still? Should I buy a new Ice Maker next?

I think you damaged the icemaker l to v is line voltage to valve . . only connection to be used with jumper is t to h this will run the motor till its started the harvest then pull wire and let it run on its on this will start the mold heater and run the drive motor and when it has almost completed the cycle it will call for water from the valve . / you need a new ice maker anyway . so just replace it and you''ll have ice i a couple of hours .. mm

There is usually a condensation pan at the bottom of a fridge. This can fill with water and over flow, causing what is happening. Also, the ice maker could be causing the problem because the water connections can leak at the back where they connect to the house water system.

Water leaks from freezer on floor.

Hello. May be the ice maker is overloading water. Is simple to regulate. You must take away the front cover from the ice maker, then will see a regulator screw, move it about 1/2 turn to minus posicion and check if water still leaking from the ice machine

I have water frozen where the ice comes out of the ice-maker. This prevents ice from being made.

Your water valve is dripping like a leaky faucet. This forms a chunk of ice in the fill spout. Change the water valve and thaw out the fill spout and it should start going again.

No ice

Check whether the water is reaching the ice maker. If something is blocking its way get it cleared. Once it start taking water it should produce ice.

The ice maker doesnt work, and in the day several times appears water in the floor, in the side of the door of the ice maker

Uplug refrigerator and remove the ice maker so we can look at the tube that comes into the back of the ice maker. It maybe the ice maker is calling for water but ice or a crack in the tube that delivers the water is being deverted to inside the freezer area. Also look behind the fresh food compartment door and see if you can send me the model number so I will be able to go over the correct model. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

The bin on my ice maker forms big chunks of ice

check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice, OR cause the thaw-freeze cycle resulting in chunks. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Frigidaire signaling water dispenser instead of ice maker

Sounds like the water solinoid valves are wired wrong. One activates The water dispenser. The other the ice maker. That, why every so often the water shoots out on the floor. The ice maker is telling the valve to open.

Ice Maker Freezing Up and Ice not dispensing

Check your ice cube tray to see if it is warped. Mine was. I took the tray off and dipped it into boiling water and remoulded it to the original shape and re-installed it. So far no problems. The tray gets warped because of the ice cube release mechanism. The tray is rotated around until it meets a block on one corner which creates the twisting motion we used to do on manual trays. Over time it tends to warp the tray. Good luck
