The security key was setup by the person who first installed the router. If you do not have the key, you need to Reset the router. There is a reset button on the back of the router that needs to be held in for more than 15 seconds to reset it to factory specs which removes the security.

My Airlink430W is not connecting to my laptop the keys changed and I do not have them anymore.

Connect to the router by typing the IP address of the router into a web browser. Then go to the section dealing with wireless wep or wap security. Change the key there to something you will remember. If you cannot remember the administrative password of the router itself, then reset the router and reconfigure it.

We do not have a secure connection to our wireless rotor

You could change and configure your router through its web interface. To access it, use on Internet Explorer, and enter 'admin' for the password.
  • Go to Wireless LAN Security tab.
  • Select WPA-PSK on Network Authentication.
  • Enter a password that you want for your wireless network on WPA Pre-Shared Key (minimum characters is 8).
  • Set Data Encryption to TKIP.
  • Apply settings.
You should now reconnect your wireless computers to your network and enter the WPA Pre-Shared Key.

Intermittent connection from router

Have you checked with your ISP on the strength and consistency of the signal before troubleshooting the router. If you're having problems with the wired connection, I would first try connecting directly to the modem to make sure you have a strong signal.
Let me know if you have a strong signal directly from the modem. We can troubleshoot the wireless router once we ensure the signal from the modem is good.

Cant connect to the internet on my lap top

first thing is to identify the wireless settings of the router, you need to identify the wireless name (SSID), channel and the encryption you are getting from the airlink router. Next is to make sure that the wireless computer has enabled wireless signal/ or the wireless is on.

after that, you may connecting wirelessly to the computer, right click wireless connection and go to view available wireless networks, try to connect -input the encryption key from you wireless router or password and hit connect.

No WEP capabilities...

WEP encryption is not very safe and will be less in use in the future. Anyway, you have to determine, if WEP 64 bit or WEP 128 bit is used (26 digits), mostly it is set to 128 bit.
If the connection fails, try to input the key with WZC (Windows Zero Configuration) instead via the interface-software from the manufacturer. If the service WZC is started (important!), you have a tab in the properties of the adapter to make the configuration with conf.less win connection, you only have to put in the right key.
