HI There,

Go to HP Support, Drivers & Downloads and enter your model # in the small window where you are prompted to do so.

Make sure you choose the correct operating system for you computer when asked. When your Driver list appears, go to the Audio section and download and save the Sound/Audio driver to your Desktop. Close all other windows, double click on the downloaded driver file and follow the prompts. Your sound device should re-install.

If it does not, there are other issues...possibly even failed hardware. I'm trying to help you from very limited info.

Good Luck

I have no sound tell me no output device is installed not sure what this means

In control panel go to "system" then "device manager" and see if there is a yellow exclamation mark in the sounds, video & game controller section. (click the + to expand the section).

You probably need to uninstall the sound card driver and reboot so windows can re detect it and reload the drivers. You may have to download the drivers from the support section of your computer manufacturers site. look for a link to support. have the model and serial number ready.

Are your speakers plugged into the 3.5 mm jack on the system?

When you install the Radeon driver, it can sometimes change the default audio output to the HDMI port on the video card. For various Windows OS versions, you need to set this in the audio section of the Control Panel. The specifics may vary. For versions before Windows 10, Click on Start and select the Control Panel. Then choose the Hardware section. Find the Sound section and Manage Audio Devices. In the Playback tab, right click on the correct audio device (Speakers) and select Set as Default Device. Depending on the system, you'll probably see AMD HDMI Output and Digital Output. For Windows 10 before the Creator Update, right click on Start and look for the Control Panel. After the Creator Update, you'll need to click on Start and expand the Windows System folder.

I hope this helps.

The sound on y t2682 emachine does not work, could youplease help me?

Step 1. Check to see if the sound volume is turned up. You can usually the icon in the lower right system tray of your screen. Also, check to see that your speakers are on and plugged into the computer.

Step 2. Obtain most recent sound driver for your machine and reload it. The newest driver can be downloaded at the computer manufacturerer Web site or perhaps came on a CD with the machine itself.

To reload your sound device, go to Control Panel and find the Device Manager. I don't know your OS setup so I can't give you exact instructions. Once you are in the Device Manager, click on the the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section. Click on the whatever sound device you have. Then click on the Driver tab till you see the option "Update Driver". Follow the instructions from there. The computer will probably ask you where the driver location so it can use it. Hope this helps.

HP Laptop Microphone Jack

It sounds like you just need to choose the default audi input device. You can do this by going to the control panel.

Start Menu > Control Panel > Sound

Once you get there just go to the recordings tab, select the device you want to use and hit "Set Default" after that you can hit properties and it should show you which jake it pertains too.
