Question about Computers & Internet
First I would try to play the file with other players to see if the file is the problem (corrupted). This you can do by putting your mouse on top of the file and right clicking it. In option "OPEN WITH" you'll find the player options you currently have on your com. It does sound that you might have gotten a virus of some short in your com - maybe from this file.
Run the virus scan just in case: http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA/security/tools/online-scanner/ Free removal tool also...
You might wan't to download Windows media player classic if above mentionned ideas don't help your problem. It's a free download and plays some files well that aren't playing without upgrading or buying..

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
