Hi you should check the settings of the fax machine to see it is correct.

What settings should I check. The machine has been working for years without this problem

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

Please tell me what type of fax machine you have

  • Earl Fey Jul 29, 2010

Manual cover says M800 M2500 and it uses special roll paper and has an attached phone,

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 30, 2010

    Try these steps:

  • Check the phone line connected to your fax machine for problems. This is one of the most common reasons fax machines don't work. Connect the phone line to a regular telephone and listen for a dial tone. If you don't have a dial tone, replace the phone cord to see if that was the problem. If that isn't the problem, test the other phone lines in the office. If the other lines aren't working, contact your phone provider to have them fix the phone line.

  • Step 2Look at the electrical cord of your fax machine if the unit won't power on or work at all. Check that the cord is properly plugged into the wall and into the back of your fax machine. If it is, and it still isn't working, replace the cord.

  • Inspect the lamp on your fax machine to see if it is working properly. Fax machines may receive faxes, but not send them if the bulb is burned out.

  • Step 4Open the cover to your fax machine if you are getting complaints that your fax machine isn't sending quality faxes. Do this by pulling on the front panel of the unit. Using a soft cloth, clean out the dust and debris from this front panel. Accumulation of dirt here could definitely be the problem.

  • Step 5Watch for any toner or ink splotches on the inside of your fax machine. If your copies or faxes aren't printing at a high quality, you may have an ink problem. When you shake your toner cartridge, it should shake cleanly and no toner should leak out. If you have a leaky cartridge, it is bad.

  • you can let me know if it work

How do I get the Bulb out to check it

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 30, 2010

Replace a defective fax machine bulb by turning the fax machine over and removing the bottom panel of the unit. Wearing a glove and not touching the bulb directly, remove the old bulb from the fax machine. Screw the new bulb into the machine and replace the bottom of the unit

  • Earl Fey Jul 30, 2010

where can I buy a bulb

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 30, 2010

You can check a supplier of fax machine for the bulb they would advise you which store to buy the bulb from.

When someone is trying to fax us, it says on their side that it went through but we hear no dial tone and do not recieve any faxes. What can we do to try to fix this? We have to have our fax working as...

Well first thing is to call your own fax machine from a telephone at your location and make sure that it rings and should hear the tones in the earpiece of the phone you are calling from. If that works, go to your fax and try to make a "copy" on it to make sure it actually prints onto paper. Then get someone locally with a fax machine to send you a fax...make sure your machine answers and then prints the page out. If it wont print the pages out are the pages going into memory???? Maybe your machine is asking for toner or a drum???

    Can't send out fax

the number you called does not answer or busy-you may have reached a number not connected to fax or it is connected and not activated in receiving mode-check the number and call again.
if you have a message "out of memory"there is no enough memory available to send your stop/exit print the faxes stored in the memory to delete them then try again.
