My featherweight 221 white machine seems to be running slow

Lubricate the motor and the gearbox on the underside . Unplug and cycle the sewing arm manually spreading the lubricant feel for the sewing arm to release from being hard to operate. Put it all back together. Plug the unit in and practice sewing arm movement on a piece of scrap material. Run it forwards and backwards if adequately lubricated it should free up of the excess traction on arm movement.

Elna 2130 runs slow and won't go to full speed?

1. Make sure the bobbin assembly is clear of all left over rags, threads, etc.
2. When you return the hook (sharp thing) it needs one drop of oil on the track. (track is what the hook rides on)
3. Take off the top and bottom lids. (Not too difficult)
4. While turning the hand wheel you will see parts moving. At areas that you see metal against metal movement. Place sewing machine oil on these areas. You may want to start by cleaning with a qtip first.
5. Make sure the needle arm (going up and down that is attached to the needle) gets oil. Also, put a small amount of oil on the pressure foot arm. (has a spring around it)
6. If it isn't still working as fast as you would like do the following.
7 Remove the plate that surrounds the hand wheel.
8. The rubber part that goes between the motor and the hand wheel may need to be replaced. (Not usually the problem) Just give a glance and see if it is in bad shape. If so then replace.
9. The motor and the hand wheel need to be aligned. Loosen the bolt that attaches the motor.
10. (Remove needle) Give the foot pedal some pressure and move the motor to a point where you hear the motor move the fastest and with very little resistance. This is where you will tighten the motor.
11. Put your machine back together.

Why does everything get hot except electrosurge wire tip for cutting?

A couple of possibilities:
1. Remove the belt. While using the foot pedal it is necessary to see if the motor moves freely without excess heat. If there is a problem the motor must be replaced or fixed.
2. Try to turn the machine without the motor attached by using the hand wheel. Does it move freely? If this is a problem the part that is causing the resistance must be found. Especially check the hook (under the bobbin case), needle arm and monitor moving parts.
3. Is the belt in good shape? If it is not so good then replace it.
4. While the belt is attached the motor must be cocked to allow the least resistance and most speed while the motor is running. This must be done carefully while the motor is running slowly. (foot control) The adjustment can be done most accurately this way.
5. Clean and oil all moving parts.
6. Make sure the bulb is the right size and not touching any of the metal surfaces.

Embroidery Arm is not moving right/left

Check to notice if when the embroidery arm is installed and you turn the power on does the embroidery unit move as it calibrates the stepper motors. If not I would first check the plug where the machine and embroidery unit attach. If this looks ok and is not out of place it could be a cable, or the main circuit board. Both of those are for your dealer to repair.

if you ever have this problem, it is because you have had something in the way of the embroidery arm at the back of the machine, so it has not been able to move freely; you'll get a terrible noise as the machine is unable to do what it wants, slips gears or something and then can't bring the arm to its home position. But fear not, i have found if you turn the machine off and gently push the arm back home to touch the machine as it is the start position, when you turn it on, it will work fine and no harm done. just make sure the arm can move freely before you start embroidery!
