My phone is doing the exact same thing. Oddly when i take out the battery and put it back in after a couple of days it works only for a few moments then back to not working, entire keypad except the end button; when turning it on.

I am having the exact problem. I was talking to my husband hung up to go into the doctor and when I got back in the truck it no longer worked. I went to Sprint and they were no help because I did not purchase the insurance. I just got the phone a few months ago.

Our daughter locked her scp-6600. Next time she went to use it she couldnt unlock it because the keypad wouldnt work. Sent away under warranty but came back as liquid damage so they wouldnt repair it. Our daughter swears she didnt get it wet.

It phone is just highly sensitive to moisture. You can beat the **** out of it but then as soon as a drop of water touches the key pad it's done

Well , I have a katana II and speaker doesn't work. I call to repair center and they can fix it but its not sprint anymore. They only fix sprint cellphones. I went to another repair center and they told me can be fixed if I can find the speaker. Cannot find it anywhere! Maybe one of you gays want to get rid of your cell phone, I can use your speaker for my cell.
thanks.

Six months is well under the manufacturer warranty. Call Sprint or take it into a store.

My keypad just stopped working although it was replaced in June of this year. When I called
the number on the back of our phone, they said it was nothing they could do. I personally think that if they know their phones are no good, then they need to replace them with something better. I have even heard that they were discontinuing the Katana phone with the Katana II.

SOURCE: katana II: my keypad doesn't work.

there is a possibility that teh contacts ar dirty or the circuit itself for the keypad is damage.

Katana II

if you are using a new katana you can either memorize or write down teh button sequence to navigate to the bluetooth settings that need to be changed for the data transfer to occur. thats what i had to do with mine after i ran it over with a snow plow. phone still works just no display... and its in two pieces. it took about an hour to get it all right, but it should work.

Can i insert a memory card to my katana 2 cellular phone?

The Katana II is a good durable phone and well priced, has a 21 Mb internal memory but, does not sport a memory card slot. It is not a GSM phone and therefore does not utilize a SIM card. So the answer is no. You can, however, download your data to a computer from a memory card such as a SIM, SD, Micro SD, Memory Stick (Sony), XD, or CF using software tools, the proper USB cable, and a Digital Concepts 6 slot card reader or the like, and then upload them to your Katana II. The only limitation is the size of the internal memory. If I did not work at a cell repair shop with all the goodies available, I would take it to a service store and pay the pros. It can get a little tricky.
