Question about Fuji FinePix S5000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My Fuji FinePix S5000 has given me years of excelent service. While on break I stored the camera for 2-3 months. When I pulled it out I noticed I had inadvertantly stored it in the "playback" mode. It was of course in 'power save off' mode but when I turned it back on, the viewfinder and LCD monitor are black and it takes black pictures like as though the lense cover was on. Everything else is normal, I am able to view previous pictures saved on the xD card and it shows promptings on the monitor. I just takes black pictures or video. Yes, I have taken the batteries out and put in fresh to try and reset and I have taken the lens cover off.

Have you tried removing the actual lens(?) to see if there's something inside the camera house that's not supposed to be there. I'd find it highly unlikely that the, thou who knows. The best thing to do, would be to drop it off at your local camera repair-store.

Help me to get a free service and repair manual s5000

Hello,
Unfortunately there is not a free service manual for Fuji FinePix S5000.

But I offer you to get the cheapest one.

1. First go to this page (http://www.free-service-manuals.com/mm2/register.php ) fill in the blanks and be a registered user for one month for $5. Then use this link to download the service manual (http://www.free-service-manuals.com/Fujifilm_FinePix_S5000_Service_Manual_L81913/)

Otherwise,

1. You have to dowload it from this link (http://www.nodevice.com/manual/newmans/fujifilm_usa/ZM00509-400pdf/get49671.html) also it needs to be a member for one day at least for 7.95 Euro

2. Download from this link ( http://store.payloadz.com/details/793904-eBooks-Technical-Fujifilm-Fuji-Finepix-S3-PRO-Service-Manual-Repair-Guide.html ) for $8.95.

3. Download not a service manual but an owner's manual from this link ( http://www.fujifilm.at/Support/Manuals/FPS5000Manual.pdf )
FOR FREE.

How do I set the date on a fuji finepix 5200

take the batteries out and put them back in. the back screen will say setup, push in the menu button and it will display the date, after doing it, click it up once for it to read month day year, it is default for the opposite.
I can't find how to have it display that in the photos though and I have the manual.

Doesn't power on

If the batteries did leak out, then you could clean the battery contacts with contact cleaner and a pencil eraser. Providing the contacts are intact, you might get it going again with new normal AA batteries.

White screen, cannot see image

Believe it or not, but I put my FinePix s5000 camera in the refrigerator for a couple of hours and it fixed the problem! Weird? I'd say. My friend recommended this to me. He has a laptop that wouldn't boot and the cold frig fixed it.

Maybe it's the contacts on the circuit board shrinking to make a better connection, but whatever it does - it fixed my camera for now.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed though. HA

CCD sensor faulty ( sits behind the lens inside and this device converts light into image ) . If the camera has not been abused the repair ought to be done free of charge because properly manufactured CCD or CMOS unit should last 15 years !
