Farajlogic, as you can see: There's no audible error message which produces 4 beeps. So basicly:

    Code
    16h 1-2-2-3 = 8
    20h 1-3-1-1 = 5
    22h 1-3-1-3 = 8
    2Ch 1-3-4-1 = 9
    2Eh 1-3-4-3 = 11
    46h 2-1-2-3 = 8
    58h 2-2-3-1 = 8
    98h 1-2 = 3
    B4h 1 = 1

But like xptareq2000 said, swapping your ram-sticks will probably auto magicly solve the problem.

You could try unplugging everything you won't need for booting: pci-modules, extra chassi fans, extra hard drives. When that's done; remove all your memory-sticks and try plugging one stick at a time.

Hello, I have a problem with: Machine is HP netserver E800 Runs MS W2k SBS. Hardware ? single PIII 933, board supports second processor IDE onboard controller with CD Problem booting up....

why not ask HP this. and not on the chat forums here,
this is NOT HP. not in the very least.
F2 sounds me , its the command to reload the OS.
did you lose the manuals on this server?
it tells you what F2 means, id be there in a heart beat at hP
in fact id down load all books on it now, because soon or now
there will be no PIII books at all, its a relic, pentium 3.

Can you boot to say a linux live CD.
or a window PE live cd?
your server will not boot to USB so, that out. (modern ways)
if yes your OS is dead, or HDD dead.

reload the OS. now. try that using the books for this server.
is it RAID? or one IDE disk.?

what does CD problem mean
why not tell the helper why is a CD in your hand
and how made it and if and OS install who's , HP or microsoft
we can not guess what you are attempting with CD in hand.
if the CD will not boot 3 disks,
1: yours.
2: linux live
3: windows live.
then the CD drive is dead, or you need DVD drive.
the newer OS needs a DVD drive, for sure.
i think (omg long ago) windows 2000 is on 800mb CD.
to boot CD you must tell BIOS to boot there first. force it.
true on all PCs and now impossible (near) with W10 and UEFI and secure boot enabled, (said or watchers looking here)

get a test CD with LINUX and test the boot.
this proves it can boot and BIOS is using it.

POST - memory count

power on self test or POST??????????????????
is this a BSOD , blue screen of ***** off a new CD from HP?
if yes the CD drive is DEAD< end of life gone and now reads corrupted data, as most do this old, buy a new CD drive.
now.

this BSOD if is, can be seen on 1000000 of posts (messages about POST, LOL where the guy doing it, used CD-r disk that are pure JUNK> or a burner old that is trashed.

please post here X your P.O.S.T screen,. I always wanted to say that.
there you go.

HP E800 PAVILLION WILL NOT POWER ON

Hi,
If there is not LED glowing in from of the servers, check the power cable is seated in properly. If that is also fine, the problem is with the power module itself. Get it replaced.
If there is LED dispaly and no BIOS screen coming up, Switch off the server and make sure the memory modules are seated properly in DIMM slots.and also the processor and HDD.
If still it didnt come up, better contact the vendor.
Please come back and vote for me if this turns to be helpful for you or also if you need more clarifications. Thnx

I have an old HP Netserver E800. It worked perfectly for several years, it was only replaced due to speed. I am now trying to rebuild it, new memory, HDD's, OS, processors, so I can make use of it again. I...

The motherboard may have configuration jumpers on it. Some of the older ones did. Please refer to the manual that can be found on hp's website. Once you get what you are looking for you will be able to set speed and related and the motherboard will now know what you have plugged in. If this does not resolve the problem please let us know.

Video Card

e800, is 18 years old now. wow, old as the hills or dirt. (like me)
not one video card stated, by you, name and numbers, wow.'

welcome to PCI express, PCI died long long ago.
but wait there is none this 18 year old server.... sorry, no express.

the e800 has 7 slots (ivory /white) all PCI of 2 types (legacy)
here are the proper names.
lets read the manual together, easy no, read?
but wait e800s are not express at all, period.
it has 5 32bit slots and 2 64 bit slots, (non PCI express)
page 19 (pdf) showsslots 1 to 4 are primary slots.
see those slot notices, those tell volts and bits.
this is legacy rules 18 year ago. and tricky interrupt rules max.
' a pentium 3 inside, what fossil. that is.
slots are limited to 33MHz.
(read slow as heck, gamer are you ,sorry this is bad fish)
watch out for code 021 errors. PCI
see page 96 (pdf page) see your card slot ID's there?
sure.
the big problem on any server, (its no workstation pC)
is video cards. added, later.
the stock VGA chip does 1600x1200? did it go bad?
the stock VGA card was a ATI RAGE XL
i guess lost , missing or dead. sure.
if still good? RAGE?
why is that not good enough(no usage application stated)
hint it will never do gaming at all, hint $60 games! in fact horrid.
the spec, book says some had a built in XVGA port.
does yours? on board?

a free manual. read how jumper and DIP switches work.!

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1187338/Hp-Netserver-E-800.html?page=2#manual

the 1st 4 slots, left side are 5v slots, not 3.3v.
but dual voltage PCI cards work in both type slots.
slots long, are 64bit 5v slots, not 3.3v
but again dual 64bit work 3.3/5v dual cards.

e800-qmgpkmrqk2qyokndrzm3ifjy-5-0.jpg is this dead? please tell what you have here.

e800b-qmgpkmrqk2qyokndrzm3ifjy-5-1.jpg
now I will toss coins for you.
coin 1.
1: is the RTC coin cell battery good. (pun yes) page 81 in manual
2: The XVGA jack above is dead. so owner wants to add a PCI card.
3: the old manual hints at dual video cards but fail to say how.
my guess is that the two, 64bit slots are in fact for this dual VGA.
SO buy one. card here, and try it,
it will cost more than the PC is worth for sure.

do not buy :
  • Express cards, useless
  • do not buy AGP cards, again, useless. straight gold finders yes. funny ones NO.
  • 64bit PCI is it. 5volt only or dual voltage.
  • do not buy 3.3v only cards, vast types sold..even used, vast.
the demand for such card today is near ZERO.
so are rare, now, and scalpers love to feed the rare folks needs, bingo.
so lets do newegg, as they have check box for PCI only
is why, few do that .
here are the players.
no hits, all are 3.3v, (3.3v means quasi modern)
5v cards are relics, 3 notch cars, are dual voltatge
and missing here.
sorry I cant find one here.

lets try scalper.bay. (I FAILED HERE TOO)
the problem is your mobo is not dual voltage mobo a very serous limitation in 2018 , no?
in fact most seller there are clueless that 64bit + 5v exists.
tons of agp and express and 3.3v there. only

id get a real MOBO, for sure.

here is the magic rule on old slots. here

http://www.pcdied.com/PCI_Keying.svg.png

right side 2nd one down, bingo 5v mobo.

Used HP Netservers

Of course they're still useful to someone. Sounds like i'd start with craigslist or ebay. Some of the servers will be heavy, so be sure to list that shipping from wherever you are to them is paid by the bidder. If you can, maybe you should try testing out the equipment to see if any of it works.

For example, Just the first entry sells new for 350, and used for about 175. You'll easily pick up 70-130 on ebay for these. In fact, I could use some of that equipment :-)

NetServer LPr P3-750 won't boot

Well, what kind of memory are you trying to use? I did some research on the product itself and found out that it requires 100MHz registered ECC SDRAM! If you put in a different speed memory or non-ECC it more than likely won't work! If that's not the situation then get back to me! Regards, Babb
