My piston stop (#4357) is "toasted". Sears parts claims impossible to get part. Per Sears -Manufacturer was Soto P Colovis company. Is there another possibility?

Go to DeWalt/Porter Cable Outlet Store. Item number 886113. Works great. Thank you Sears for all of your help. I will never by another power tool from Sears again. Their Customer Service sucks.

I am not familiar with nail guns but if there is a place to put a piston stop, can you use a piece of rope instead? I have used rope to stop the piston on chainsaws I have fixed where my piston stop tools wouldn't work

Need piston stop for a craftman model 351.183210

It looks an awful lot like a Porter Cable FN250A so you may want to try a piston stop from that tool. Here is a link for the PC.

My bostich1664FN was working fine, then it stopped shooting nails. How can I troubleshoot this problem. Thanks John

Here are some easy tests.
Assuming that the gun is firing normally however no nails are ejected. Remove the head of the gun and check if the piston is not returning to top of cylinder (piston needs to return to top for nail to enter into positon under the driver). Piston not returning to top indicates, bent driver or worn oring on piston. Repair /replace as needed. If driver/oring looks good, pull out the cylinder and look for check band in place around series of holes on lower part of cylinder and bumper should not be cracked. Lube all orings with silicone paste lube. Good luck

I have a craftsman 16 gauge finish nailer, model 918441. it is not advancing the nails. not certain how to adjust. cannot find the manual. is the manual available on line?

Assuming that the nails are correct for gun (16g nails measure .055) and feeder is actually applying pressure to nails (feel spring pressure as you close clip), most likely problem is driver is not returning to top of cylinder. This is caused by low pressure to gun, bent driver, lower bumper missing pieces/cracked, worn oring on piston or lack of lubrication. Remove cylinder and examine condition of lower bumper, replace if broken/cracked; check outer cylinder for check valve in place (usually small band or oring covering series of ventholes) ; replace piston oring as needed, make sure driver not bent. Parts available at sears web site. Good luck

go to www.manualnguide.com i looked and they have the guide there you can download for free. Any nails will work as long as you get 15 gauge nails only thing that matters is whether or not they are straight or angled

Hope this helps

My Sears Craftsman 18 gauge brad nailer won't nail unless I release the nails from supply, remove the front cover, slide up I think it's called a striker, then replace the cover, re-set the supply and...

Your driver is not returning. Depending on the model that you have there could be a couple of problems. The most likely is that your piston stop is crumbled and some of your seals are worn or damaged. Whether or not you can fix the nailer depends on if the parts are available from Sears Parts Dept. If you would like some more information about fixing your nailer please post which model it is that you are trying to fix and I can see if the parts are available. I will post the information back to you.

Dont know what nails to use on my makita brad nailer

is that a model AF505? if it is, your problem may be the gauge. make sure you use 18 gauge nails, he 16 gauge are too big and will jam in the gun.
