Question about Lowrance XOG GPS Receiver

Open Question

Lowrance xog would not display Navionics lake data or position.

I purchased a used Lowrance XOG to use fishing with
a 2010 Avionics Hotmaps Premium msd Canada Lakes card with no success.I updated software, but obviously missed changing an essential
setting, because I couldn't get any map image, and in Canada, even had Canada side of Rainy lake omitted, which was the only place I was! Do you have any idea what was wrong, and why I was unsuccessful?
Navionics site said xog was compatible, and I updated to 1.8 or 1.9, current one. I agree with all terms of use, except the subscribing to your service. If help here is not available for free, your invitation is untrue. Please help me if you can. I surely would appreciate it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: My new Endura out&back does

One thing that you need to know that the Fishing Hot Spots cards do not work currently in the Lowrance Endura Out&Back, Safari or Sierra GPS units as these cards are in SD format and the Endura's use microSD format.

A microSD version that will work in the Endura's with full functionality is being worked on.

If your new Endura does not work properly (dept of lake from Navionics...) after being charge (power on and off) you might have gotten a faulty unit. You should exchange it for a new one.

How do I get my lake map chip to come on

With your card in your unit follow these steps it should accomplish letting you view your map data.
push MENU twice
Highlight CHART push ENTER
Highlight CHART DATA push ENTER
Highlight LOWRANCE push ENTER.
You will note there is an option for Lowrance and Navionics, if you select Navionics you will see a distinct difference in the way the base map displays on your unit.
Hope this helps.

Lcs-20c GPS slow with HotMaps Premium 09 card

Does the image come back by itself if you slow down or stop and wait? If not, make sure you are not leaving the coverage area of the chart you are set to. In the LCX-20, that Navionics chart is split up into several sections, if you have one section selected and are on the border and then leave that area, the map usually goes all white depending on your zoom level. If you are on a border like that you will have to learn to quickly switch the charts from the MAP DATA menu.

If the map does catch up when you slow or stop, and just can't redraw fast enough...

Make sure the LCX-20 has the latest updates which can be downloaded from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/
These updates often add additional Navionics support.

Most likely though, this is just going to be the way it is with that particular map and the LCX-20. If you zoom out it will be much much better. So if updating doesn't help, zoom out. Experiment to see how close you can be zoomed in while running above 20mph. If you can get a good zoom level to where the map can keep up and you can still see the information you need then you should be good to go. If not, use the LakeMaster card or go get a different mapping option...or upgrade your display unit.

Try saving the update to a SD card and put that in the SD slot of the XOG

Lowrance HDS-5 won't load Navionics

You need to wait for a fix from Lowrance on the HDS units. Supposedly, a new software update is planned for May 15th 2009 to address this.

Lowrance LCX 28c HD with Navionics HotMaps Premium SD chip. Chip worked fine last fall but when I went to use yesterday the Lowrance would not read the chip.

I had the same problem with my handheld Lowrance Hunt C. After installing the card and locking it in place, I had to slide the card "out" toward the locking mechanism. It barely moves, but worked after that. Whenever I load the card, I now slide it out or wiggle it and it works every time.

GPS Does not work

If you have a memory card inserted, remove it...if the problem goes away, try replacing that card. If the problem occurs with any card then...

Try installing the latest update from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/
even if you already had the latest...try installing it again.

If the problem occurs with any card, and after updating or attempting to update, there is a probably a malfunction with the XOG and it will need to be repaired/replaced. The Lowrance contact by phone is 800-324-1356 and go to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Contact/ to email them.

I have a lcx 28c hd fish finding sonar and mapping gps

I've had several similar units, and used them with Navionics HotMaps Premium series chips. You must select Menu. The "Browse files" to access the MMC card option. Once the selection screen opens, choose which card or file you want.

FYI...All of Lowrances HD models come preloaded with pretty much every major lake and river in the US.

Lemme know if this helps...
