I just bought an E Sky transmitter and FMS 2.0 software. I use Windows 7, so had to install a virtual XP mode to use the software. But now the E Sky transmitter is not recognized by the computer, not even Calibration. Nothing happens. I've read online that no driver is required but it sure acts like it needs one. Can you help?
Hi
FMS uses a .DLL file from Windows that is no longer included with Windows 7, this will cause an error when you run FMS or it wont recognise it. The file is named D3DRM.DLL. To install this file, go to this link and download the file--
FMS file link
Now save the file in your My Computer->C:->Windows->System folder. Make sure that you run FMS in Windows XP compatibility mode. To do this, right click on the FMS icon on your desktop and select "Compatibility" from the pop-up menu. Select "Windows XP Compatibility" and hit OK.
If the above steps doesn't help then please open up the FMS folder on the system and delete the windm.dll file and now check.
Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

I installed Windows Virtual XP at the direction of another site, which worked for installing FMS 2.0 Beta 7 software. I also downloaded d3drm.dll to the fms folder in virtual XP mode. It brings up the picture of the airplane and its surroundings as well as the sounds of its motor and it takes off, but with no control from the transmitter. When I click on the control tab, analog; and joystick, it brings up the calibration box, but no control from the tx ("joystick not available"). It seems to me that the virtual XP mode cannot see this "game controller" using the USB. But I don't know how to make the virtual XP recognize the tx via the USB. Am I right, and if so, how do I make that happen?
Hi
WIndows Virtual XP software is not needed for this, as you can use windows 7 functionality which makes the files/software downward compatible with Windows Xp. To do this simply choose the file you want to run and the right click on it and select Properties -> slect Compatiblity Tab -> from that tab choose the Windows Xp version you want to make it compatible with. After doing this try running the file. If its still not working then please follow the steps that I gave you in the previous solution by deleting the windm.dll file.
