Hi,

You can try a reset on the printer using the # and the number 6,holding them down while plugging in the power cord at the back of the printer.if it still does not work then you can try the same with the # and the number 9.If it still does not work, get your printer serviced.

Please post the feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

The above has to do with finding the fault code with CWIS (CentreWare Internet Services).

I think that the printer is a windows 2000 machine.

    scanner fault error

  • First, if the copier is still under warranty, do not attempt to trouble shoot it or they may not cover it under the warranty if you work on it without their technician doing it for you.

  • Step 2Second, do not laugh because if you do, you may one day feel VERY foolish. Turn the copier off, then re-start it. Too many times this is an automatic reset that people fail to try. It seems too easy and it is, so try it before you call a technician who will charge you just to come by your office to turn the copier on and then off.

  • Read the directions that accompanied the copier. Too many times we start using office supplies before we read the directions - if ever. Go to the index and look up the specific problem you are experiencing and try it. Look specifically for paper jams and a reset button inside the copier.

  • Step 4If all else fails, call the company's technician and watch what they do. you may have to perform the same task for the same problem again in the future and it will save you some time and money.

  • i will send another solution for you.

When tech just went to fault history, getting U8-3 error

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

The power connection to your scanner has a problem so the scanner is not getting enough power thats why its tripping.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

Your Xerox copy machine has a variety of internal components used to print documents and any of them may cause serious problems if they stop working correctly or become dirty. Most common problems are a simple matter of replacing the dead part or cleaning off the dusty component that has stopped functioning correctly. Repairing your Xerox copier isn't much of a challenge for the average office worker and only takes a few minutes.

    Cleaning The Paper Release Blade

  • Step 1Power off the Xerox copier and lift open the top control panel. Pull out any paper currently in the paper feed tray.

  • Step 2Lift open the plastic exit cover door underneath the paper feed tray. Tilt the green plastic paper guide unit toward you so the paper release blade is visible.

  • Step 3Dampen a soft cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Wipe down both sides of the paper release blade from left to right. Set the plastic paper guide unit back into place.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

  • Close the exit cover piece and push down the top control panel.

  • Replacing Imaging Unit

  • Step 1Turn off the Xerox copier. Pull down either the plastic door at the front or left side of the Xerox copier, depending on where the toner and imaging unit are located on your specific model.

  • Step 2Lift up the plastic latch holding the guide bar in place and push the guide bar down. Grip the edge of the cylindrical, plastic imaging unit and slide it out of the Xerox copier. Discard the old imaging unit.

  • Step 3Pull off the strip on the top edge of the new imaging unit. Slide the imaging unit into the Xerox copier and lift up the guide bar. Push down the plastic locking latch.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

    mptying The Waste Tray

  • Step 1Shut down the Xerox copier. Pull down the small plastic waste tray door located on the right side of the copy machine.

  • Step 2Grip the edges of the green plastic waste tray and slide it toward you. Discard the excess ink inside the waste tray and wipe out the inside of the tray with a soft cloth.

  • Step 3Slide the tray back into the Xerox copier and push down until it clicks into place. Close the plastic door and turn on the copier.

  • Those are other information you can look at,

    Hello.

    From FixYa Support:

Make sure that the cable from the scanner to the machine is not bent/loose.

If still a problem, select the Machine Status button (3rd on the left) and look for the Fault Clearance Instructions on the Xerox Document Center for assistance to clear the fault.

    Hope this helps.

Do you know if the scanner is supposed to shut down after 30 seconds. That is what is happening and then the error code comes back up?

Can you get to the Machine Status button and follow the Fault Clearance Instructions in those 30 seconds ??

    • microsolutio Jul 29, 2010

Tech is getting ready to go back out to the job site on a ship. Do you have an answer as to whether or not the scanner should shut down after about 30 seconds?

    • microsolutio Jul 29, 2010

The 30 seconds we are talking about is when the machine is initializing. Has not that particular yet, but all the other buttons he has tried this morning said something like control panel not functioning, turn printer off and same thing happens.

    Hi

If you are doing a network scan then please check that there are not many systems accessing the machine simultaneously. Also, try reducing the resolution of the document to be scanned. If scanning from a remote system then try cleaning up the files off the remote server to free up more disk space. Also check the system settings and then scan sheet status, select the default setting from there.

If this doesn't help then try & reset the power to the machine. Inspect if there are any broken parts around the scanner.

Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

Disconnecting the Xerox c2424 Document Scanner

The Xerox c2424 Document Scanner has a very high rate of failure. After very limited use it can generate an error code of 39,012.40 indicating that the document feeder is damaged. Xerox's answer to 99% of the document scanner issues is to replace the unit. But while restarting or cleaning can possibly resolve this issue, it is also possible to just disconnect the scanner and use it independently of the document feeder.

Xerox documentation however, does not instruct the user how to do this and tech support won't walk you though it. (So, courtesy of Pastor Ray of Indiana) Listed here are the steps to operating the scanner without the document feeder:

    (1) Perform a standard shutdown on the printer.
    (2) Disconnect the Document Feeder from the printer IN THE REAR OF THE PRINTER. You still need the side connector hooked up, the one by the power-on switch, power plug, USB port and all the other goodies.
    (3) Power up the printer.
    (4) It should work. However...
If for some reason the printer won't copy, then just do what I did in my experimentation:
    (1) Perform a standard shutdown on the printer.
    (2) Disconnect the Document Feeder from the printer in the rear of the printer.
    (3) Physically remove the Document Feeder, leaving the copy platen visible.
    (4) Power up the printer.
At this point you should be able to copy stuff.
    (5) Physically reattach the Document Feeder, but DON'T reconnect it!
You should still be able to copy, scan, etc.

What is the Xerox Phaser 8400 printer error code 07.010.43:43923? Much appreciated. Thank you.

    Try this:

The printer has encountered an error state without the benefit of a code. Turn the printer off for 30 seconds, then power back on.
If the Printer Error message returns, press the i button on the printer's front panel. The actual error or fault number should be displayed. Note the error or message and search the knowledge base for the error.

    Also:

Based on the problem description provided, we have determined that your printer needs service.
Please turn your printer off and use one of the methods below to make arrangements for service:
If using the local service provider website, please perform the following steps:

    1. Enter your zip code in the space provided.

    2. Choose a mileage distance. The search will locate a Service Provider within the specified range if available.

    3. Click Go. The web site will return a list of Authorized Service Providers (ASP) with their company name, address, phone number, and fax number.

this is a scanner problem that can be associated with the scanner lock under the scanner bed. make sure the lock is in the 'unlocked' position. it is easy to move this when lifting the scanner bed to reload the ink blocks. if this does not solve the problem you may have to replace the scanner assembly. hope this helps.

    Scan failure

Anything with scanning problems on this machine, would require a service call.
Turning off and wait for at least 30 seconds and powering on the machine "Might" get the machine back to a good "Ready" condition.
The problem might be a bad scanner motor gear or even curciut board. There might even be some major binding that might knocked out some sensor, giving this condition.
Most times, a service call needs to be placed with Xerox.

    Errors

If this is a Xerox 128, I have looked through all the documentation and those are non standard fault codes.
I would first start by seeing if the scanner was comming on and moving correctly.
The only other thing you can try is to remove all the covers and disconnect and reconnect plugs, and ribbon cables.
There is nothing in the documentation or engineering notes to reference any of those error codes.
Not even eliminating the P and just looking up the individual codes as just numerical codes.
A non functioning scanner will produce many odd codes not listed in documentation, which is why I am having you start there. Reseating connectors will allow all modules to communicate, which can also produce odd codes.
