Forgotton hdd password on Toshiba satalite oro a210

you could try this,,,Others have been able to change the password in BIOS. Found this:

1. The HDD password cannot be removed using Security Assist.
2. Using SETUP BIOS (i.e. start machine; Hold Esc; Press F1), Tab to the HDD Password section which should be displayed as follows:
HDD Password
HDD = Built-in HDD
HDD Password Mode = USER Only
User Password = Registered
3. Tab to the "User Password" field and simply enter the old password and then a new one twice (once to verify) as one would do normally. If you don't want a password, just press "enter" twice

How to reset hdd/sst password of toshiba satellite c-55-B5299

You can only input the password and then change it. The password protects the owner of the drive from theft and if the owner forgets it ... too bad. Buy a new hard drive and start again. Owners do not forget an important password like that one!

Unlock hard drive

If the HDD is password protected, you can do CD intallation of the operational system, "removing password and personal data" if that is not an option, go to www.ebay.com Type: HDD password and go through the list of sellers to make a choice of software that reveals or resets passwords.

When I start the system it is asking for hdd password. What is the solution please?

The control processor from inside the HDD has failed, it's malfunctioning and thinks that the data on it is password protected. This is unfixable the disk , whit all that is in it is gone. Replace it and reinstall.

I forgot hdd password how to unlock

Toshiba highly recommends the customer to fully understand what HDD Password is and once registered please keep your "PASSWORD" in a safe place.Your HDD password is different from your BIOS Password. Your BIOS Password is stored in the computer, but your HDD Password is stored in the HDD unit itself. So even the HDD unit is removed from one computer and attached to another, the HDD password is required to access it.If you forget your HDD User Password, TOSHIBA will NOT be able to assist you, and your HDD will be rendered COMPLETELY and PERMANENTLY INOPERABLE. TOSHIBA will NOT be held responsible for any loss of data, any loss of use or access to your HDD, or for any other losses to you or any other person or organization resulting from the loss of access to your HDD. http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01MC000CR01.htm

Hdd password

If it's an HDD password they are very difficult to remove. Most Data Recovery places charge 200 to remove them. You can try contacting Toshiba to see if they can help.

If you tell them that you have never installed an HDD password they might fix it for free ;)

Is there a way of fixing this "Please enter built-im hdd user password" I was told that if I put new drive in it may lock it too .

Hard drive passwords are embedded in the firmware of the drive itself. You need to try to find out what the password was.
If you put in a new drive, that drive will not contain the password routine. It is the physical drive that is password protected, not the system.

There is an article about this at this site.

How do i unlock my internal hdd on my toshiba pta71u-03q01m??? somehow the hdd got password protected...

This is a geneic problem with all thoshiba satellite A100 series laptops. When you still have warranty with your machine, HP is liable to fix it for you, otherwise you have to do it yourself. When you are afraid of doing it yourself, just go with the instructions to a certified technician and let him fix it for you.

This is the solution if you have to fix it yourself:

Remove the plastic piece above the keyboard.
Unscrew the 2 screws on the keyboard and lift it up gently. You don't need to disconnect it.
Now unscrew and remove the modem card in the center.
On the system board you will find 2 solder points c88. Short those 2 points out while you press the power button on, which will reset the bios password.
