Hello,

Carnister vacuum cleaners are all built with the same principle in mind. A motor generates power which powers a vacuum which, in turn, creates suction to lift debris. The most common areas of suction loss are within the hose itself, the vacuum bag, clogged rollers, broken vacuum belt or a faulty gasket. All of these problems will lead directly to the vacuum cleaner losing suction. I will advice you check any of the listed problem above to see where the problem lies and fix it.

Take care.

Filter queen vacuum head has no power

More information needed. When you turn on the vacuum do you hear the motor running? Is the problem that there is no suction at the head? Is there suction at the canister when the hose is removed? I would first check to make sure that there is no obstruction in the hose. Have you checked the filters to see if they are clean?

Nothing going into dirt canister

Is there suction at the hose? If not it is either blocked or the suction fan is broken. If there is, then there is a blockage in the pickup section, something is lodged across the channel after the brushes and before the place where the hose plugs in.

I think there is a safety switch to prevent it from running with the canister out so hard to check for suction at the top of the motor/suction fan. Make sure nothing is over that part under the canister too! If you can figure out how to bypass the safety switch (if there is one), you should have good suction where the canister sets on top of the motor base.

Very poor suction. No obstructions in hose.Just cleaned filter and emptied canister.

Are you getting good section at the wall inlet? If so, see below.
Check for a clog inside the power nozzle. Detach wands and drop a small coin into connection. It should fall through. If it doesn't, there's a clog that needs cleared.
A leaky hose could be the problem. Any vacuum hose is often mistreated, though intentionally. But due to the length of the CV hose, it undergoes quite a bit. Being constantly dragged around corners and pulled around, as well as improper storage can all result in holes/leaks in the hose. A few tiny holes throughout the length of the hose will result in an often dramatic loss of suction.
How old is the vacuum? It may be time to replace the hose.

Hi There,

I think I know exactly what the problem is with your Dyson. I'd be happy to try and walk you through it, but just want to make sure that you still need help, or if you've already fixed the problem.

No air pressure to **** up dirt

First test suction on unit without the hose, is there suction? If yes, attach hose and test. If no go to the door to outside, attach hose to the top of unit where it blows (under handle on top), put hose out door and turn on. The stuff clogging the hose should blow out the end.

If it wasn't the hose check the wand, and then the power nozzle and using the above to clear obstruction.
