I have an epson Stylus photo RX420 and have downloaded SSC Service Utility V4.30 to resolve issues with flashing E and Service lights etc. The problem is that the Epson Stylus Photo RX420 does not appear...

Yes, it is. Select CX4600(4500)/CX36x0(3500)/RX42x(430)/PM-A700.
RX42x covers RX420/RX425.
Minimise to tray, click on icon in notification area and select protection counter - reset protection counter.
Its there for a reason mind, so replace or clean the overflow sponge first!

What PSU does an Epson Stylus Photo RX420 need?

Usually power supplies are not compatible one with the other due to the voltage and current requirements , as well as the connector they use. Check ebay and you might find a power supply. As for the details, check the Epson website and you should find what you need.

SCANNER WON'T SCAN OR COPY PROPERLY

Try deleting the printer, dissconnect the usb from the computer, reboot.
Install the driver from the CD again and follow directions which will tell you when to connect the printer.
See if this works.
Do NOT connect the printer till you are instructed to do so.

STYLUS PHOTO RX420

I've had a look at the user manual (which was very vague) but found that under the "Product Information" > "Control Panel Functions" there's an option to have A4 or 10x15cm sized paper output on the printer control panel. Make sure that the A4 selection is lit before you copy.

Hopefully that will help resolve the issue.
