Question about Samsung SGH-t229 Cellular Phone
I am confused how the battery got wet, wasn't the battery installed on the phone? If only the batter got wet, and the screen doesn't come On, then replacing the battery will fix your problem.
The fact is that, right after a mobile or any electronic gadget is soaked with water or got wet, you need to directly remove the battery without testing anything or without examining whether it's working or not. The most important thing is to remove the battery and disassemble the unit.
I doubt that your phone also got wet with the battery, in that case, the troubleshooting measures will be tougher, you need to disassemble the handset, dry all the components, and clean what is necessary. You can't simply dry them by exposing, you'll need a specific solution called Ipa Solution to clean and to dry the Circuits, otherwise it'll take much longer.
During this situation, you'll need a set of screwdrivers for Samsung Mobile, a soft brush for cleaning and Ipa solution. In that case you better take it to a service center and get it repaired. That'll save time and money, moreover they'll find out the exact problem for you. It's also possible that the circuit board is damaged. If you are lucky, only the display or the display cable (flex cable) will need to replace.
Thanks for using FixYa.
