Question about HP Keyboard & Mouse

1 Answer

The roller wheel on an HP mouse works just fine for me,but not for my 89-year old mother. She is weak and has a bit of a tremor. Can that be affecting it? I have tried useing the roller wheel with the lightest touch possible and it still works fine. Any suggestions for my mother?

My HP laserjet 4 plus will usually print the first page fine but will jam of the 2nd page. I will open the back and find the paper crinkled like an accordan.

Hello, this is fairly common with the HP4 and HP4+. The rear exit roller are worn and no longer transport the paper properly. You may be able to clean them and they will work better, they really should be changed. The top cover will have to be taken off, there are two screws in the back and 1 in the front (under toner lid). If you can get the top off, clean the rollers with a mild detergent and lightly damp cloth. The part numbers for the rollers are RF5-1076 and RF5-1077

Why does my garbage disposal keeping locking up? I've checked inside to see if anything is lodging the blades but can't find anything.

Next time it sticks. Vacuum out everything.
See if the cutter wheel is still lodged.
Or if cutter wheel rolls free.
If cutter wheel rolls free after a simple vacuum, then I would suspect the motor is old and weak.
If cutter wheel is still lodged, then check around the edge and see what is stuck.
If there are pieces of metal, then the cutter wheel is probably falling apart bit by bit.

HP PSC 1315 Paper Feed Problem

Remove the back panel or the duplexer if you have one attached (no tools required). Then locate the pinch wheel which is on the left hand side, about 4-5 cm in and from the left (looking from the back). With a cotton bud reach in and wipe the roller. push your little finger in to gently rotate the roller bit by bit so that you clean the whole roller. Only touch the side of the roller with your finger, so that you don't leave residues.

HP recommends that you use a little distilled, sterile or bottled water on the bud, but not tap water. I found that just using a dry bud worked to remove the build up of dust from the roller.

This succesfully got my PSC 1317 picking up paper again. I think it will apply to other printers in the PSC 1300 series.

Fix scroller in mid of mouse

is this some old XP op sys? No PC actually stated,
no service tag model stated.
Generic answer.:
old PCs, with old PS2 mice.
it has a driver, if device manager tells you its ok, then why not
go to control panel , and see the word MOUSE.
click that and set the center button as you desiree.
using arrow keys does not reconfigure the mouse. btw.
support ends after 10 years, (about)
then click tab , WHEEL, and set it as needed.
or the mouse is dead, the wheel deep inside, loves to grow LENT
and the LENT blocks the optical wheel encoder inside.
and makes it fail. (all do this , this old, wait for it, bam. )
try a new mouse
clean yours (google how)
bUy a USB mouse, but XP hates USB so GET service pack3 for XP
and pray the USB like your new mouse but wait I may not.

Id go to goodwill (store) pick put out PC that came new with windows7
so you have support.
I think covered every possible way here, liking PC model. NO NOT REALLY., ill list them.
1: VIRUS INFECTED PC. most XP are, its loves to.
2: bad mouse
3: bad mouse driver.
4: bad setups in the mouse page.

Scroll Wheel does not work with some programs.

If you set the mouse wheel to one page at a time for the scroll wheel and install the FF add-on SmoothWheel the scroll wheel will work fine, you can even use the FF add-on to change the scroll amount even more (with the SmoothWheel add-on install in FF the "one page at a time" isn't really one page it goes by the add-ons rules, which is 1/7's page.
