CHeck your Internet Connection!

Trying to connect to your favorite search engine without success? Okay, maybe you can't check if your "Internet wire" (connection) is broken or not by using a bulb and a couple of batteries. But, you can get a good idea how close you can get to the site you're trying to reach.
  1. Go to the "DOS Prompt" (or the "Command Prompt")
  2. Type "tracert <destination>" and press ENTER
For example, if you're trying to reach www.chamisplace.com, type:

    tracert www.chamisplace.com

    and press ENTER

How to speed up Windows 7 or Vista responsiveness with a USB memory stick in a...

A great feature that isn't commonly known is ReadyBoost. It was introduced in Vista and is available in Windows 7 as well. Basically it increases the amount of memory you have by using your memory stick. You can use more then one usb/thumb drive and the bigger they are the better.

Step 1: Just insert your USB drive into a usb port.

Step 2: Click Start > Computer

Step 3: Right click the USB memory stick you plugged in and choose Properties. Click the ReadyBoost tab then choose Use this device. Choose how much space you would like to allocate and that's it!

Enjoy the boost!

How to convert a web page to a .PDF in Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2008/2003/2000...

In a previous tip I taught you how to print to a PDF. Converting a web page to a .pdf can be done the exact same way.

Step 1: Download and install this free program
http://www.dopdf.com/

Step 2: All internet browsers print the same basic way so just go to the tool bar of your browser and click File>Print -When the print window opens make sure dopdf is in the pull down box

52b8a2d.jpg

Step 3: Click Print, DoPDF will open and you can select where you would like to save the .pdf to.

That is it. You have now turned your web page into a PDF file.

Hope you enjoy this and all my other great tips!

Cars are not my specialty, I'm a computer tech. My father has worked in cars all hes life but I'm not going to bother hes vacation with car problems for a while.

So please ask another expert and make sure when you look around that he/she has "cars" in hes expertise field.

Leethedeuce for example has cars in hes experience field.
