I have just replaced a motherboard on a HP nc6000 NoteBook. When I went to test it and power it up the fan started, but nothing else happened, (RAM, CPU, and HDD installed) the power light constanly flashes even if the laptop is powered down, even with the battery is in place and no AC, tried without the RAM and HDD same thing happens, the the power LED flashes constanly when running or powered down. no display on monitor or external either. This is a reconditioned motherboard I have installed. Has any one have any ideas what is wrong, please help?
My first question would be why was the motherboard needing to be replaced, I am willing to bet the last one overheated. These Hp laptops with the NC6000 in mind had problems and contenue to have problems with Gpu/cpu over heats with that said you might want to try a diffrent cpu in this bad boy. Now Hp knows the defect and its really in the Gpu not the cpu but when the overheat happens the cpu is also effected.
This ads me to beleave ether
1. Your cpu is a goner
2. You bought someone's problem board refurb or not
I know there is basicaly absolutly no way to bench test a mother board outside of the shell, But I feel you bought more problems.

My solution here you will not like but here it goes return the motherboard and by a non hp laptop like toshiba, or lenovo dont get stuck with junk because that is what it is and what it was as soon as it hit the store shelves sorry to break it to you harshly but it is what it is, This NC6000 was a compaq before it was a hp my friend.
Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edwy_1a56970cf1ea4620
Your most welcome if you like you can look at my tip on what happened to one of these compaq/Hp laptops that I fixed maybe it will help maybe it will not. What also is found that causes these to do this is the power adaptor.
