Question about Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24" LCD Monitor

Open Question

Dell 2407WFP 24 inch LCD F1 fuse specs

I have a Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24 inch LCD Monitor which suddenly lost any display.
Power and front LED's seemed fine - just no actual image.
I just fell out of the warrenty so I opened it up and found that a tiny fuse numbered F1 on the inverter board was faulty.
I bypassed this just to double check and the display seems to work.

However I really don't want to bypass the fuse, I want a replacement but I can't see any specs for this fuse other than the 20 it shows on the top.

Can anyone help me with the specs for this fuse so I can get a replacement from maplins?

See below for three images of where I found the fuse and what it looks like (fuse location highlighted in yellow)

SOURCE: Dell 1702FP Blank Screen problem

Hi there, I had the same problem on two Dell 1702FP monitors and I solved them, now I am using one as an LCD TV and it's been working great since then. Solution: replace surface mount capacitors, 10uF 16V value, C604 and C507... I created an instructables web page for it, so please follow the link below: http://www.instructables.com/id/ELWXF03NV6EQZJIZM2/ Enjoy it! Koray.

SOURCE: Dell 1800FP Dark, No Power but power supply seems fine. Help!

I just repaired 3 1800FP's - all dead, no lights.
Firstly a dead 2AS01 is 95% of the problem, because some fool designer left out the protective zener diode - cheapness.
Mouser Electronics does not have this part, but lists it at 37 cents in lots of 2500, and gettable at $2.66 somewhere else.
You must also replace the two small value electrolytics near this IC, as some had an ESR of 40 where <0.5 is where it should be.
I suppose as the electro's dry out, the spikes can zap the IC. The quacks on ebay flogging 2sa01's alone, probably hope to sell you another one down the track (at a fat markup).

There are 2 'Sam Young 2200uf' electros that really should be replaced, with ESR or 2-30 ! Ideally replace ALL electros, as the others will be off - but those 4 as a minimum and using a jewelers loupe, resolder other joints on the transformer and anything that looks more dull silverish, than the rest. A 1 inch used and worn paint scraper will get the case open easy.

DANGER, CAUTION : Finally when refitting the inverter board, ensure the steel tab is over the TOP middle of the board facing away from the power socket (SO YOU CAN SEE IT) . The board sides in flat. It is possible to scew the board down with a slight bend, with the tab pressing over the pcb tracks - very , very bad!

Now all I need is for some kind soul to improve the fix by stating what the value of the missing zener should be.

PS. Just because the caps are not bulging does not mean they should be OK. Most wrecked 10 year old power supplies have better ESR's, so the electronics must be hot under the cover.
I have seen bulging caps with a GOOD ESR, and non bulging ones with an ESR of 47.

You can try to unlock the display/monitor by pressing and holding down the MENU button on the monitor screeb (OSD menu buttons) while the monitor is powered on. Hold it for about 9 to 15 seconds, then release it. Let us know how it goes.

I have a 2407WFP monitor. The power turns on but there is no display even when I push the menu button.

You need to take it apart and check the caps in the power supply and fuses on the backlights inverter board, see my pictures here:

Probably the backlight then. If you take a look on eBay you can probably get one for this screen and do the job yourself, they're relatively inexpensive.

I can Fix It if I Can Find The inverter.

Cajun is an idiot. a BACKLIGHT is a pencil sized tube that provides light for the LCD. An inverter will take a small voltage and turn it into a large voltage, with a proportional decrese in current. Not nearly the same thing.

Go to LCDrepairs.com and buy the parts you need.
