A friend has opened a facebook account on my phone, ans has since moved. She won't give me her password to close the account. Meantime, I'm getting text messages for her on my prepaid phone. How do I

Try adding a the mobile number to your own Facebook account. From what I remember.

If that does not work or you don't want your mobile number on your account, text "STOP" or "OFF" to 32665 or in reply to one of the text messages.

If you have Verizon you can just log into your verizon, com account and see all your text messages.
Also, if you have not done so already go to>>text message icon>tap text message icon>go to top right where you see 3 small squares in a line>tap it>select settings>select message limit>scroll and select the number of messages you want to keep on your phone>once completed tap the set button
> make sure you check off the auto retrieve box, too

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

There are different reasons why you may not be able to access your account and unique ways to contact Facebook for each case. Therefore, it is important to be sure that you are using the correct channel when submitting a request for help. First, identify the correct reason why you are unable to access your account from the three reasons that are listed below. Then, follow the instructions listed by the reason that pertains to you.
  1. Disabled for violating Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities
Facebook accounts that have been reported or detected for policy violations may be disabled by Facebook. Possible reasons include, but are not restricted to:
    • Continued prohibited behavior after receiving a warning or multiple warnings from Facebook
    • Unsolicited contact with others for the purpose of harassment, advertising, promoting, dating, or other inappropriate conduct
    • Use of a fake name
    • Impersonation of a person or entity, or other misrepresentation of identity
    • Posted content that violates Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (this includes any obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit photos, as well as any photos that depict graphic violence. We also remove content, photo or written, that threatens, intimidates, harasses, or brings unwanted attention or embarrassment to an individual or group of people)

Please review Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities to learn more about specific types of conduct and content that are not permitted on the site.

If you have not posted violating content or otherwise violated the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, click here.

  2. Security disabled
Accounts that have been reported or detected as compromised or phished may be disabled by Facebook. If you think your account was disabled for security reasons, refer to the Security section of the Help Center to find the correct contact form.

  3. Can't log in due to access issues
If you are disabled, you will clearly see a "Disabled" message when you try to log in to your account. If you do not see this message, then your account is not disabled and you are simply experiencing login issues. You should refer to the Login and Password section of the Help Center to find the correct contact form.

    Examples of login issues include:
    • Inability to log in due to password problems
    • Inability to log in due to an error message (e.g., "Site Maintenance," "Invalid/Unregistered Email Address," etc.)
    • Inability to log in due to forgetting one's login email address or password
    • Other technical difficulties accessing Facebook

I'm having the same problem. I have yet to figure out why I get these texts but I did read on another website that it was because of a persons mobile setting on their email account. (I've checked mine and I had nothing set up in my mobile settings). It work for them so I say give that a try.

My account is disabled.

This is happening with countless facebook users all around the globe everyday. Facebook disables the accounts of users who are doing suspicious submissions. The definition of suspicious, often means just using the facebook too much. Normally, Facebook warns the people and gives them one more chance to change themselves and at times they just terminate the account suddenly and permanently. Mostly, they turn back the disabled accounts, automatically after a calm down or after sending a humble request to the facebook authorities. But in some cases, they just ban the account and forget it.

Facebook has not declared about what type of bad behavior can get the facebook account disabled, and this is the only reason that is leaving the people confused, angry or desperate when they gets the message ACCOUNT DISABLED. I have listed some of the most common reasons on "why the facebook accounts are disabled?" so that people can keep their accounts safe from getting it disabled by facebook. Keep in mind that the list mentioned below is absolutely not a complete one and as the time passes, policies will keep on changing according to requirement, we will have to live with a bit hesitation while using Facebook.

Here are the reasons that can kick you off from facebook:

• You did not use your real name

Never use nickname (or initials)in lieu of the name on your birth certificate, because Facebook will find you and spit you out.

• You joined a lot of groups

Keep in mind that the limit set per user is 200. More than that just looks desperate, isn't it?

• You posted countless messages on a wall or in a group

Even one of my close friend had his account disabled for "excessive evangelism."

• You posted in n number of groups, and too many user's walls

You may be axed for being too verbose in too many places. That's what spammers do, silly. On Facebook it is better--or at least safer--to be seen than heard.

• You sent the friends request to too many people

This was to be the prime cause of disabled accounts in past, but Facebook has set a maximum number of 5000 friends that can help you to protect from yourself.

• Your school/organization affiliation is doubtful

The overlords are sometimes not very trusting, and they may accuse you of not graduating from Harvard (or Plum Senior High School). The impertinence! Better have your diploma ready.

• You're poking too many people

We've heard this from multiple sources, and it's easy enough to avoid. Save the pokes for people you *really* like, as mum always said. But beware the odd FB app that pokes on your behalf.

• For advertising your app on wall posts

The line between spam and self-promotion is a thin one, but let it be known that pimping your shiny new Facebook app is definitely considered SPAM.

• Using duplicate text in multiple messages

Some people paste a generic welcome message into friend requests to save time. DON'T DO THIS! It makes you look like a spammer. (Ironically, pro spammers are probably randomizing their messages to avoid this trap)

• You are a cow, dog, or library

Being a real person is not enough, you must be a **** sapien. Accounts have been deleted for cows, dogs and libraries.

• You are under eighteen years old

According to one report a user's account was suspended when they suspected her of being under 18. She was required to enter a work email address to prove her maturity, at which point her account was reinstated. [note: other users have pointed out that being under 18 is fine if you're part of a High School group, though underage home schoolers have been told to bugger off]

• You wrote offensive content

Reports of "sudden death" on accounts have been reported by users who were told they had posted offensive content, but were not provided details of the offense.

HOW DO I REMOVE THE GUEST ADMINISTRATOR WITHOUT BEING AN ADMINISTRATOR ON MY COMPUTER SO I CAN DOWNLOAD THINGS ON MY COMPUTER

You question is not that specific so i can't give you the specific answer, there're several ways to configure this settings, but it depends on the Operating system you are using. If you are using windows Xp, log off from the desktop and press Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously on the login screen (sometimes you'll need to press several times), a small logon window will pop up, type administrator on the username box and if a password was set with the administrator, key in the password, or if there's none, just press enter after typing the "administrator". After you are logged in with the administrator account, go to control panel - user account - create new - and create an account (any username that you want to give) with the administrator privilege (rights) {you should select Computer Administrator}. Again log off and login using the new username and password (if you've set a password). Now with that account, you can do anything with your computer. If it's not Xp then the problem is difficult being without the administrator's rights. If you have another account with administrator's rights, then you can disable the Guest account. Good luck Thanks for using FixYa.

Windows xp pro logon error message "unable to log you on because your account has been locked out"

Hey!
If your computer is a part of a business network, you should contact the network administrator so he/she would setup or reconfigure your user account correctly.

If it's a home computer, you'll have to log on as Administrator to unlock your account. To do so:
  1. Click Start -> Log off (user name).
  2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice.
  3. Type Administrator in the user name and fill in the Administrator account's password. Leave blank if there isn't any.
  4. Once logged in, Click Start -> Run...
  5. Type in: LUSRMGR.MSC and click OK.
  6. Double-click on Users folder.
  7. Double-click on your locked user account.
  8. Uncheck "Account is disabled" and click OK.
  9. Close "Local Users and Groups" window.
  10. Click Start -> Log off Administrator.
  11. Login to your user account!
Note: If you don't have access to the Administrator account (because you don't have the password), please do tell and I'll give you the instructions on how to reset it.

GOOD LUCK!
Pelu.

LG Vu autolocks after 1 sec/disable e-mail notice-keep text notic

On the menu screen that shows "call," "sound," etc., hit the white "more" button with a blue cross, > "security," > "auto screen lock," and you options for after 15, 30, 45 seconds, and after 1 minute.

For e-mail alerts, get into your e-mail account from your phone. When your account has popped up (so you can see a list of e-mails and know you're in), hit options on the bottom right. It should give you an "email alerts" option; hit that, and you can enable/disable from there.

Deleting the recent log

thank u so much for trying to help. I guess my message wasnt clear enough though. The phone is not storing my "messages", I'm not having a problem with that, I can clear them, no problem. Its the "recent log" under the "add recipients" that does not clear. The "recent log" stores all the numbers you ever text messaged to. I want to clear the #'s that I've text messaged to, not regular calls, thats easy to clear. For some reason this phone stores all the #'s that you text to. If you can figure it out, i'll give u a million dollars!!! just joking of course.
thank u!
