I have this samsung 42" projectile color tv, my kids were playing with
the remote and accendentially lock the channels on display, now i cant
search the TV as it is lock with a symbol of a locked padluck coming
up when i try to search it,i want to no how i can unlock it.
SOURCE: samsung tv
as far as it turning off on its own I would get a fan on it and see if that make a difference make sure that the fan is able to flow around the tv especially through the back of it, if this stops it from turning off then it is an overheating problem

SOURCE: I have a samsung sp42q2hl,
Use component to connect this will give yu HD picture,
On the back of the set you will see A group of 5 phono sockets Blue, Green, Red, These carry picture,
Then Red, White, these carry stereo sound.
Component video improves the picture quality even more by not only separating the color from the black-and-white portions of the picture but by further splitting the color information into two color-difference signals. When the picture signal is split up in this way, you get an unfiltered, uninterrupted image, with better resolution and greatly improved color saturation. And this is why component video is the predominant method of hookup from HDTV set-top decoders to HDTVs.
So this is how your set can produce HD picture from Hd source.

Use your input/source select button. Should display input 1,2,3,4 comp 1, comp2 etc in order then repeat. Make sure your using the correct component input. Most sets have 2. Turn on the device first so you'll know your there when you see the picture
