If the hose actually comes out of the pump (look carefully) it sounds like the chemical pick up line. It would most likely be clear plastic tubing with a plastic filter at the end. You drop this into your chemical (soap, etc) container and under low pressure it will siphon the chemical and apply it through the wand.

I have unionpower up-150 washer it wpnt start stood for a while

hi
not sure what engine is on this unit but I assume it is a honda engine or copy of on your unit as that looks like a standard engine on this model. If it has been sitting for a while then take the barb off...remove the two nuts on the front holding the carb cover on plus the bolt under the air filter. Pull the carb off the engine and remove the bowl. look for trash and old gas buildup inside the bowl. clean if needed. Remove the plastic float needle in the carb. in the center you will see the jet...you can remove the jet with a small flat screwdriver. Take it out carefully so as not to mess it up and clean the holes in the jet thoroughly. Reassemble the carb and replace on the engine. It should start with new gas. Good luck!!!Check here for new parts if needed Pressure washer parts catalog quick links Pressure Washers High Pressure... or FIND PARTS FAST

HOW DO i REPLACE THERMOSTAT 1997 CADILLAC DEVILLE?

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.
If you still wish to replace the stat...
The thermostat in the northstar engine is located at the bottom radiator hose (unlike most conventional cooling systems), the hose connects into the housing where you will also find the water pump.

You will need to remove the air filter housing and air duct to gain easy access to the thermostat.

Remove the hose from the housing, then remove the two bolts on the flange, the thermostat can then be pulled out.

Take note of the orientation of the thermostat as you remove it.

The thermostat in the Northstar engine is a dual action device.
One end of the stem is the Thermostat(obviously) and at the other end is a spring loaded pressure valve(the thinner end).
Make sure the thermostat end is nearest the rubber hose and the pressure valve end is in towards the engine.

Engine runs , not getting any water flow when trigger pressed.

Disconnect hoses.
Look for kink in water hose.
Check incoming water connection for filter washer
Replace filter washer
If you don't have a filter washer, put one in.
Hook up water, and turn on
Water should come out other side of pump.
Turn on machine.
Do you get pressured water out of pump.
If no pressure, then pump is suspect
Hook up washer hose without gun
Does pressure come out of washer hose
Finally, the gun trigger may be bad.

We had to buy guns now and then.
Search for pressure washer guns
Following link shows guns we used:

Water goes thru. have hydrulic oil to level. gun semas to stick on. NOT GETTING ANY PRESSURE AT NOSSEL.

Hydraulic oil?
Is this a pressure washer?
Pump should be half full of SAE20 or SAE30 non-detergent motor oil.
Engine should have 10W30 motor oil.

If you have a pressure washer ... and not water is coming out end of gun:
Take all hoses off machine.
Look at incoming water hose connection.
The should be a filter washer.
Clean or replace filter washer.
Hook up water and turn on water.
Water should come out other side of pump.
Turn on power washer and see if water coming out of pump is pressurized.
Now hook up pressure hose without gun.
Turn on pressure washer and see if water comes out of hose and is pressurized.
Finally, the gun may be bad.
We used to replace guns when they went bad.

I am looking for a replacement hose for my Blue Max pw2200/03435. Does one exist? If so, where can I get one?

Here is a site that shows the lightweight blue max power washer hose
http://www.shopping.com/Psi-Blue-Max-2200-Psi-High-Pressure-Gas-Power-Washer/products
It looks to be a right-fine chinese product manufactured using the technology we paid-for and developed over the past 50 years and then gave away with our jobs overseas.

If you bump up to professional power washers..

Power washer hoses are interchangeable as long as the quick-connects on end of hose can unscrew.

We used power washers a couple times a week. When I needed a new hose, I went to the hydraulic hose shop. They make steel-wound hydraulic hoses for tractors and heavy equipment.

Search 'hydraulic hose in Your-town-your-state'

If the quick-connect ends of the Blue max hose do not come off, check the quick-connect end attached to machine. If it comes off, you can buy a new gun and hose. If the quick connect on the blue max machine does not come off, then the life of your machine is directly related to the life of that single quick-connect fitting.

Search 'power washer guns'
Here's a site with guns like we used

NO HIGH PRESSURE FORM MY 3000 PSI CAMPBELL HAUSFELD POWER WASHER

Make sure you have water pressure coming in, and that your pressure hose and gun aren't clogged.. Also, make sure your engine is properly filled with oil.. I have seen highpressure hoses ( at their connections) fail too,.. the connections at the ends of the hoses may not be opening all the way to allow water flow.. Hope this helps..

Kenmore 80 series washer

This is usually a symptom of a pressure switch malfunction. The pressure switch is located in the operator console behind the load (or water) level knob. It is cylindrical in shape and has an electrical connection and an air hose attached to it. In many cases, the only problem is that the air hose has come loose and fallen off the fitting on the pressure switch. You will need to open the console and inspect it. To open the console, it comes off in a few different ways depending on the year and model of the washer:

1. If you have removable end caps on the console, they simply pry off by lifting from the the back exposing a screw under either end. Remove the screws and the console lifts up.

2. If the end caps do not come off, place a putty knife in the front corner of either end of the console where it meets the washer top and push in while lifting up. This depresses a retaining clip and the console will lift up.

3. Some consoles have a screw located on either side in the back that you need to remove and it will then lift up.

Be careful when you lift the console. There are small plastic hinges holding it in place and they can break if you aren't careful. Place the console in its resting position by laying it over the back of the washer. The pressure switch will be easily accessible. Double check the hose like I previously stated and double check to make sure all the electrical connections are in place.

If you check the switch and find that everything is in place as it should be, you may have to replace the switch. Post back with your COMPLETE model number (located around the rim of the washer tub opening) and I can track down a part number for you.

I hope this helps.

HINT: If the hose did come loose and you reattach it, take a small zip tie and place it around the hose where it fits on the pressure switch. Make it snug, but not too tight (the fitting can crack). This provides enough resistance where the hose will not come off again.

Miele washing machine

All Miele washing machines and dishwashers need to fill in a required time. Flashing inlet (Tap icon) indicates that the machine can not fill in time. There are filters in the end of the hoses which connect to your water supply from the machine and filters in the inlet valves which you can get at by removing the hose from where it fixes onto the machine it'self. You will need some long nose pliers to grab the little tab on the small filter to get it out. Clean all filters and hoses. Still same problem then check the pressure of the water coming into the machine. There should be a good pressure coming out of the hose and will be difficult to stop the flow of water with your finger.

The filter is blocked. Disconnect your power source. Open the panel. Have a towel or wet vac handy and a screw driver. There is a silver ring circling the drainage hose with a small screw on top. Loosen the screw. Pinch the hose on top and let water drain to wet vac or towel. Completely remove the hose from it's housing. Reach your thumb and index finger inside that same hose and pull out the filter. It looks like a small plastic cup with holes in it. Clean it out, wash it. Use your fingers or dry vac hose and feel the bottom of the inside of the hose where the plastic cup came from. Remove any debri that excaped past the filter with fingers or suction with hose til you can feel with your fingers that the bottom of the inside of the hose is clear. return the cup back inside the hose. Put the silver ring over the lip of the hose then place the hose back on it's metal housing which is attached to the machine. Make sure the hole is secured around the entire metal (if not you will get leakage). Tighten the small screw, pull down at the hose making sure it will not come off with the pressure of the water. Clean up any leakage. Close panel and I promise you, your problem will be solved. Good luck, from Cheryl AlAlexander
