I need to wire my sony cd player into my fiat cinquencento but I have no idea how to wire it in I just spent 23 on a wire for the stereo an it only cost me a tenner for the actual stereo I dont want to...

most car stereos are simple to wire, especially sony!

Main power cable colours are:..
RED = LIVE (+)
YELLOW = MEMORY/SWITCH LIVE it will be next to the red and black cables

You should now be left with a couple of audio out jacks and speaker cables,

the speaker cables are straightforward, most have a twin, ...E.G if you have a grey wire, this should be next to a grey and white (or grey and black, depends on model) wich is classed as its PAIR/TWIN.............

an so forth,, purple, white, brown.....ect ect

each colour havin a twin as stated ealier!! (they are twinned, as the solid colour is usually the negative speaker, and the solid colour with a stripe through it is usually the posative speaker connection (eg..single solid colour is (-)...and...solid colour with stripe is posetive (+)...)

I have a 1995 f250 it had a tape factory player and trying to put a single factory cd player that came from a 1996 ford areastar van but the wiring is diffeent is this possible?

yes. more that likely if you look at the stereo it will give you a colour code as to what colour wires do what. if they dont then a simple google search for a stereo wiring diagram for each vehicle will be even better. if its just your speakers that are messed up then a neat trick to remember is if you take a AA battery and put the + side of the battery to the + side of a speaker wire and the - to the - then that speaker will come out. If the poles are backwards then the speaker will go in. good luck

I need step by step on how to connect a stereo to my 2001 f-150

radio wires red= key live yellow=battery live. black= grd. The rest are speakers. totalling 8 (others are illumination normally orange. blue and white is aerial antenna. not required) Car colours all vary. Advise getting tester. to test for lives. Check key live by turning on and off key while testing lives. ground is normally always black. Lives are normally alot thicker than rest of wires as is ground. once lives connected you can test speakers by balancing left and right fade rear and front to connect these. As for + - on a loom these are normally hard to distinguish as a speaker can run in reverse. in just sounds alot better when ran properly. But each pair are normally the same colour although one will have a different colour line running down it. Chek out this site for car wiring colours.

Need help with speaker wire colours

if i read that right.. just leave the wires in place and run new wires through the door and into the dash behind the deck.

speakers only have 2 wires a (+) and ( - ) the positive and negative can be hooked up backwards at the speaker and you will still get sound just fine.

many audio installers i know dont even bother looking at what wire is what as long as 2 wires are running to the speakers

if you want to TEST a possibly bad wire use a Multi meter and check Continuity through the wire.

Colour code for speaker wires.dont know + from -

I am guessing the cable is figure 8 two cores attached to form a single cable. The core with the line down it is very often the - and the plain the + however it is irrelevant, as long as the cable that is connected to the source, CD, or whatever, the colour that goes to + there, must go to + at the speaker terminals, likewise the - must be connected in the same way neg to neg. This follows for ALL the speakers connected to the system as if you get a pos+ connected to a neg- it will cause the speakers to be "Out of Phase" and could cause sound distortion. Rule of thumb, without any stripes or line black, is usually negative -
