I'm hearing some unwanted sound after I turned-on my acer netbook. Also the monitor is keeping on blinking when the sound comes out. It's like a sound of a small blower or a small dynamo. I'm afraid that...

Hello

OK, now, the only components in your computer which actually rotates which can explain the the sound you are hearing is either the CPU fan or the CD/DVD rom or the Hard Drive.

You can test if it is the CD/DVD rom by opening your CD/DVD rom while starting the computer up. If the sound persists, it is most probably your CPU fan.

The reason for your CPU fan to rotate at high speeds is most likely the result of the CPU itself not getting the sufficient cooling, hence the fan needs to rotate faster.

I would suggest that you have a look into the matter if it is your CPU fan, because this might cause your CPU to become faulty when it overheats. You can open up the unit and use some compressed air to get rid of all the unwanted dust particles on the CPU heat sink and fan.

Fell free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea

A kind of sound is coming from left side of touchpad in my new dell inspiron 1545 laptop problem:

Hi i'm Rain.
Ok there are only 3 sounds you will here from your computer laptop.
  1. You will hear the fan running.
  2. You will hear the HardDrive running.
  3. You will hear a CD-rom drive running. Wheather its a DVD or CD-RW.
You will need to turn it over and listen from the bottom. If there is venting then more than likely its the fan.
If its where the Media drive like i mentioned {DVD/CD-rom}. Then thats your sound. If the sound is coming from an area that you can't visually see something that it could be.
Then its your hard drive. To resolve the problem you will need to first locate and name the item that is making the sound. Follow the steps i have given you and locate the source of the sound.

NO POWER TO FLOPPY OR CD ROM NOTHING FROM THE GRAPHIC CARD

You need to list the problem in detail.
e.g. when you turn on , what do you see.
when does it stop.
do the lights come on
does the floppy or cd rom run
etc.,
without all these it is difficult to conclude on the possible malady.
it is same as going to the doctors and just sayint "I am unwell" and not providing what the problem is .

Good luck
