This solution assumes you never had a gamertag for your original xbox (as was my case)

stuff you will need: xbox live subscription card, credit card, email address, xbox original connected to internet

Purchase subscription card from retailer (card will say for xbox360, this is fine...I used a 1 month card)

Get on your computer and go to xbox.com, near the top right corner it will say to sign in, do this so you can begin to create a gamertag

enter your email address and password and continue to setup your new gamertag( I don't recall specifics, however if you've set up an account before you know the routine: name, address, birthday etc..)

After you've created your gamertag, the name & picture you chose should be on the top of the page...click on your gamer name

This will take you to your account page...click on "Manage Profile"

After that, on the right will be an option "Redeem Code"

If you havent already, scratch off the silver on your pre-paid subscription card to reveal the code

The next screens will have you enter your credit card and billing info (do NOT skip; this is needed to recover this gamertag on the original xbox)

Enter the redemption code when prompted, this will associate an xbox live subscription with your gamertag

Once you have entered that info, go ahead and double check that your credit card info is saved under "Manage Payment Options"...if it isn't go ahead and re-enter your credit card info and save it

Make sure your xbox is connected to the internet, with no game inserted, power it on

Choose xbox live

Choose Account Recovery

Enter your gamertag, cardholder name, credit card number, & postal code EXACTLY as you did on xbox.com

if everything went correctly, you should be re-directed back to the "Select Account" screen on your xbox and your gamertag should now be selectable.

The instructions for navigating the xbox.com site are merely a guide, just know that you need to setup a gamertag and associate the xboxlive subscription & credit card info with that gamertag

Hope this helps

You will have to purchase a subscription code
I'm not sure if you can get them at retail stores, but they are available on Ebay. Don't get the ones that state theya re for xbox live gold membership.
You can also get the xbox live starter pack which includes 3 months xbox live and a headset (that is if you can still find them, again ebay is a great starting place)
That's how I did it.
Happy gaming

Where can i find my microsoft account details

to recover an old microsoft account you need to visit account.live.com/acsr and type your last known email address (Outlook, xbox live or other Microsoft services). If you cannot remember your original domain name then you will have to create a new account more than likely.

My xbox is banned from xbox live

If you made a new account for yourself and it wont work, try to delete the old ones. If that doesn't work, contact customer support and see if they can tell why it's banned and if you can have it removed as you are not the original owner.

I want to make a Old (Original) Xbox - Live Account and i dont know what to do plz help me

Original Xbox network has been shutdown to give server space to 360 network. You can still have a network, but non official, there's programs for that. Then you connect the Xbox to the computer with the program and you should be able to play with other people that also have the program, something like that.

I want a Old (Original) Xbox - Live Account

Im sorry to say that they don't have any old Xbox live accounts. They have all been discontinued and they do not run it anymore. They only do Xbox 360 live. I know how hard it is to get broadband and immediately go for the old fashion halo games and find out you can't anymore.

Forgot my xbox family code.how to ulock??

If referring to Xbox Live Gold Family Account, then contact Xbox support directly. You will need to be able to positively identify yourself as the original owner of the account. In other words, no kids or teens posing as adults to gain access to the account.

Use use the password reset answer or contact xbox live here http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/contactus.aspx

If Referring to Xbox Console Passcode Reset:

Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code:
  1. From the XBOX dashboard screen, go to settings and then parental control.

  2. When prompted for the password, perform the following sequence using the XBOX controller: X, Y, Left Trigger, X.

  3. Enter in a new password, or disable parental control entirely.

My son has created an online ea account to play football on his xbox 360. he can't play because it is telling him he is to young. can i create another account..

Yes, you should be able to create a new XBox Live account for your son.

When you create a new XBox Live account, make sure to edit the date of birth so it is at least 18 years old. This way any and all restrictions on his online gaming experience will be nullified.

Hope that helps!

How do i turn off parental settings, or even better change my account to an adult one on xbox 360?

Hello,

If you did not create a Live account that is not over 18 years old, it is unfortunately impossible to COMPLETELY remove the parental controls on the Xbox, however, it is possible to almost completely turn them off. If you have access to the 'parent' account of the child's account on the Xbox 360 and you have your own Xbox Live Gamertag, you can login using your Windows Live account on Xbox.com and change parental control settings.

If the "Child" account has reached the age of 18, then you need to sign into the "Parent" account and follow these steps to convert the account to an "Adult" account:

  • Go to My Xbox, and open your profile.
  • Select Manage Account.
  • Select Promote Child Account.
  • Follow the required steps.

If the "Child" account is NOT atleast 18 years old then this is how to modify the Parental Control settings (Note: You can NOT completely disable Parental Controls, games that have ratings above the neccesary age can NOT be downloaded on the "Child"account):

  • Sign in using the "Child" account's Live email address and password.
  • Click on the gamertag in the upper right hand corner of the site.
  • Click the Manage Profile button.
  • Under the Gamer Profile heading, choose "Family Settings".
  • It will now ask to sign in as the "Parent" account.
  • After signing in, you can change the Parental Control limitations.
  • When done, click the save button at the bottom of the page.

Hope it helped.

Xbox 360 live acount

dj_vision,
The problem is that you have created 2 different accounts, you have to use the account you used to complete the game to join xbox live to maintain the achievements - you can't send game data to another account. Play the original account (the one you completed the game with) and use it with Live. If you haven't discovered this yet or the other account expired get more Xbox Live and go from there.
