Hp laserjet 1200 stops printing but stays on

If your HP LaserJet 1200 printer is experiencing intermittent printing issues, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Check for paper jams: Even if you don't see any visible paper jams, it's worth opening up the printer and checking for any small bits of paper or debris that might be causing a partial blockage. Use a flashlight to examine the paper path thoroughly.
2. Clean the paper path: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate in the paper path, leading to printing problems. You can use compressed air or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the rollers and other accessible parts of the paper path.
3. Verify printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers specifically for the HP LaserJet 1200 printer model.
4. Reset the printer: Perform a power cycle by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This process can help clear any temporary glitches or errors.
5. Adjust printer settings: Check the print settings on your computer and ensure they are appropriate for the print job. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size, paper type, and print quality settings.
6. Update printer firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve the printer's performance.
7. Check for hardware issues: If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the printer. Consider contacting HP support or a printer technician to diagnose and repair the printer.
Remember to consult the printer's user manual for specific instructions on maintenance and troubleshooting.

Hp laserjet 1132 mfp paper pickup issue E1 error

Shabbir,

First I would try a "heaver" weight paper in place of your current paper.

Second I would look for something blocking the paper path...maybe a piece of paper got stuck.

Hope this helps...

Duplex printing not happening

Hi,

In your printer model duplex printing is not supported. But it can be achieved using the manual duplex printing option. In the printer properties select the type of duplex printing you want to take and click on print. Once the printing got over on one side of the papers, then you will be prompted to turn the whole printed paper bundle and keep in the tray again and continue the printing. Now by this way duplex printing is done in your printer model.

I hope this is useful to you.

My epson stylus color 670 prints goobley gook

Many older printers want to finish a print command before allowing resetting to normal printing, and will ignore your cancel print command in My Computer/Control Panel/Printers/Properties. So either let it finish by feeding used paper or unplug it, cancel documents and then plug it in with the power and feed buttons pressed at the same time to reset. If it will still not print normally despite clearing document print commands and unplugging and resetting, dip switches may be defective or on-board software is corrupted.

Paper won't feed.

I was not familiar with this model and pulled out a paper jam from the front. I now know this is a BIG NO-NO.

It now will take the paper to the beginning print position, sounds like it is printing but paper does not move any further - ever.

Paper Jam

hi y'all -

you share a frustrating problem... error message but no apparent error (jam)! it's one that's common to many models of printers and the result of many different causes.

I've seen it when I've printed on cheaper paper, or different (lower) grades with odd surface finishes. the sensors get dirty, or the printer/computer 'thinks' there's paper stuck where none exists. I've opened/closed paper trays 2-3 times and rolled feed rollers around multiple times, then closed printer paper drawers only to have the 3rd time of doing the exact same steps be the time it cleared the error message.

there are often very tiny pieces of paper stuck in weird places in the paper path in printers, too. if you did have a jam before the message started, is every little scrap of the page accounted for? there are also hard to get to places to find paper scraps in larger printers, but I'm going to assume you're all talking about home printers.

here are a few general HP support links you may find helpful for future paper jam messages for this model of printer.

this link is for general info for this model:

this link is for general support for this model:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/solveCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=304535

here's a link addressing paper jams in general:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bud09189&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&rule=26353&product=304535

and here's one on cleaning your printer:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00016484&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=304535

hope this helps a little bit for future refs. remember that using good paper helps print quality and lessens printing problems. also, when you take a stuck page out of a printer, doing so gently will help ensure little scraps of paper do not tear off paper edges and get stuck in weird spots. it some times helps to gently, manually, roll the feed rollers a full turn around in the printer, too. patience pays! -JW50
