Question about Hitachi Televison & Video
On the front of the tv there's a light - it indicates the status of the power source of the tv:
- the light blinks - the tv has had a relatively minor fault and the power source is in protected mode - this is usually caused by a failed capacitor, open the tv, find it and replaced it - it will look bloated, leaky.
- the light is steady and red/orange - a big problem has occurred, multiple components have failed and the power source has crashed, itself with some damage. This is a job for a pro and it will be expensive.
- no light is visible - the fault is massive, multiple parts, including the entire power source, are totally fried and will have to be replaced. If your tv is an older model the repair will surely be more than the tv is worth. Get a quote before doing everything else.
