It is possible that your phone is protected by the serrvice provider through which it as bought initially. This is a service provider lock that needs to be removed after a year usually or by calling up the call centre of the concerned service provider. Please try to do this and confirm.If not you will have to get assistance from a phone service centre or even Nokia to unlock which they charge a small fees for reinstalling the software.
