Question about Washing Machines
The door interlock unit, just behind the front outer panel, can go faulty and will need replacing. On some models, you will have to pull off the door gasket on the side where this is located, to get in and replace it.
Occasionally, you can access these from the top, with the top panel removed. If you are really lucky, as few come out from the front after removing a couple of screws. A few machines have the front panel removable, but this is rare. CAUTIONS: 1) ALWAYS UNPLUG MACHINE BEFORE DOING ANY WORK 2) some interlocks have an thin plastic air pressure pipe attached to the bottom, so ensure you locate this pipe, don't let it fall out of the way, so you can gat at it to push it on to the new interlock during re-assembly.TD
