Question about Radio Shack Accurian APD-3955
It does not read any dvd at this moment.
Mines just stopped working, as well. I'll let it load and then it will say that there is "no disk" inside of the player. I tried multiple DVD's and all seem to do the same things. Is it just the end of the players lifeline?
We had the same problem. Since ours was off warranty, I took the back off (several small screws) and lubricated with some fine oil the track (two silver rods about three inches long) upon which the lens slides back and forth. It can be tricky to get it apart and back together again. I also manually slid the lens carrier so that it was in the middle, partway away from the center spindle. Now ours works fine. I think the problem was that the lens carrier doesn't slide very well or gets stuck on the track rods.

I've had this problem consistently with this model for the last year. Bought the first one from Radio Shack and just 10 days later, all of the sudden DVDs would not play. It was under warranty so Radio Shack replaced it. Then, about 15 days after I had the second one, same thing. Replaced by Radio Shack again. Then, the third time in less than 2 weeks I figured this was ridiculous. Purchased an extended warranty last year and now I'm having the problem again. I strongly urge you to BUY A DIFFERENT DVD PLAYER altogether. This 7" Accurian is obviously a lemon. (P.S. This problem seems to be popping up all over the internet on forums. Maybe Accurian did a recall, who knows).

Same problem here! Went on road trip vacation with the kids recently, brought our Accurian 7 incher, it failed to work for the entire ride. What a piece of _ _ _ _! The kids were so disappointed. In the end, we had a lot of fun singing, playing road games, chatting, telling stories, etc. Radio Shack lost a customer. We'll never buy from them again.
