If even after your deffaults were loaded the ringer does not work then it is possible that there is an hardware issue. You will have to open the phone and probe within for possible failure of the ringer / buzzer, the connections. If your ******** is working then it is possible that the ringer is faulty and must be change. But if any of these are not working then you might have to check the board for confirmation. Use a good multimeter to confirm the continuity of the buzzer/ speaker and the connections / connectors. Hope you get this right. Good day

Why my nokia C3 doesnt ring accordingly although i set the ring tone already?its only vibrate.i'm not using silent mode.

I can imagine it how annoying it would be to you to see your cell vibrating instead of playing your favorite ring tone. Most probably it could be because of incorrect Profile configuration. It is possible to make your phone vibrate in almost every profile so we will assume that it is the reason for your problem too. Do the following and check some parameters as described.

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Profiles
2. Select Profile and then Select General.
3. After selecting General you will be given 3 options (Activate, Personalize, Timed)
4. Select Personalize.
5. In the Incoming Call Alert field, select Ringing.
6. In the Ringing Tone field, select your favorite ring tone.
7. Scroll down, (push down button) the next field would be Ringing Volume. For now select the max.
8. Scroll down to the Vibrating Alert field and set it to Off.
9. Scroll further down thill the very last field where it says Alert For, select All Calls for this field.
10. Save your modifications.
11. Activate the profile and see if it works now.

Only and only If it doesn't work, it may be due to software corruption.
In that case reset your phone to the factory default settings by going to:
Menu > Settings > Press UP button.
Select Restore Factory Sett. give your Security Code (default = 12345) and viola.
(Make backup of your messages ad contacts before attempting this)

Ringer is marked as off on my blackberry bold 9700 and i have no sound

Hi,Sound profiles define how your BlackBerry device alerts you of phone calls, messages, reminders, and browser content.

Your device has a Normal sound profile and six other preloaded sound profiles: Loud, Medium, Vibrate Only, Silent, Phone Calls Only, and All Alerts Off.

By default, some of the settings in the preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile. For example, when you change the ring tone in the Normal sound profile, the ring tone in the Loud, Medium, and Phone Calls Only sound profiles is automatically updated. If you do not want specific settings for a preloaded sound profile to update automatically when you change the corresponding setting in the Normal profile, you can manually change the settings in that preloaded sound profile.

You can create custom sound profiles. When you assign a custom ring tone to a contact, the ring tone is always active and does not change when you switch sound profiles unless you switch to the All Alerts Off sound profile. Call and message notifications for your contacts might be audible even if you switch your sound profile to Silent or Vibrate Only.

You can change, rename, and delete most preloaded sound profiles. You cannot delete the Vibrate Only sound profile and you cannot change, rename or delete the All Alerts Off sound profiles. You can change the Normal sound profile, but you cannot rename or delete it because some of the settings in the other preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile.

Change a sound profile

If you change a setting in a preloaded sound profile that is based on the Normal sound profile, that change will override the corresponding Normal sound profile setting in the preloaded sound profile.

1. On the Home screen, click the Sounds icon.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
* To change the active sound profile, click Set Ring Tones/Alerts.
* To change a custom or preloaded sound profile, click Edit Profiles. Click a profile.
3. Click the application or item that you want to change.
4. Change the notification information.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
7. Press the Menu key.
8. Click Save.

Hope that helped...

My Nokia 6131 has stopped ringing - it just vibrates when there is a call/text. I haven't done anything different. It's not on silent and I've tried resetting to factory defaults. Any suggestions?

its like the user profile has changed to silent
All you have to do is....
go to the settings on your mobile phone, scroll to profile and select it, click on general or loud, select personalize, check the incoming alert mode and see if it is set to ringing, scroll down and select a tone for the alert then save. after which activate the edited profile as the profile in use..

hope this helps

following and touch Save:
• Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ring
tone menu.
• Vibration then Melody: the phone vibrates and then starts ringing.
• Vibration & Melody: the phone vibrates and plays a melody
simultaneously.
4. Touch the Voice Call Ringtone field, touch to select a
ringtone and touch Save.

Wont ring in normal setting.

This is a rather common issue but one that is easily corrected. Motorola phones have different "Profiles" such as Outdoor, Meeting, and as you know, Normal. Each of these profiles have their own separate ringtone settings. To correct the normal settings go to Settings>Profiles>Normal, press options and select edit. This will allow you to set the correct ringtone and other settings for that profile. Once that is done you should be ok.

Verizon 8330 does not ring

1. Check and make sure you're call forwarding settings are correct. Normally people have it set to ring for 20 seconds, before forwarding to voicemail. Your cell phone company should be able to walk you through what their default setting recommendation is.

2. Is the call making it to the device, but the ringer isn't turned on? Does the screen show INCOMING CALL? If it does, check your PROFILES and find out which one is active and see if the ringer for that profile is set to SILENT.

3. If the call never makes it to your BB, your internal antenna is bad - take it back.. or you get no signal where your at. Basic troubleshooting for the BB should be to pull out the battery. Turning it off completely by removing the battery - should reset any bugs that hose it up.

Assigning ringtones to a profile

If you set the profile ring tone to OFF. Then select a contacts' number and assign it a Ring Tone. When that contact calls you the Ring Tone you assigned will ring.
If you select the same Ring Tone for all your contacts in a group they will all sound the same when they call.
Or select the same ring tone for a profile, but cancel the Tone you assigned to the contact(s).
