You may have a bad mold heater . this causes the release of the ice cubes / but do clean out the deposits . as they also prevent a proper harvest .. after cleaning spray mold with a food grade silicone .

Ice maker on whirlpool quit working .

If it's like my Samsung, there is a reset micro switch button in front of the box containing the ice cube tray. Press it and the machine resets, the ice cube tray rotates, dumping the cubes. It then rights itself and fills with water. Hope this helps.

Ice maker froze the ice and its stuck, it won't dump ice and it won't let me take out tray.

Some people use a hair dryer on it and dump it by hand. Then they spray some anti stick stuff on the ice cube tray so this will not happen again.

Kenmore icemaker tray leaking water (model 795.51022.012)

Do the old 'KISS" thing first (keep it simple ......thing). Chances are that there are tiny calcium deposits in the ice tray which makes an ice cube stick in the tray. If one ice cube sticks, the water will overflow as it needs all the trays empty for the filling. The water will drip down into the freezer area causing chunky ice and stalagmites. The calcium deposits are very teeny in size but will hang up an ice cube from dropping. If more than one ice cube (basically all the ice cubes) didn't drop then the heater in that unit that initially gets the ice cubes to drop could be bad.

I've taken the ice cube assembly out and used vinegar with baking soda to dissolve the calcium and that worked. I left it in for a couple of days. "Do NOT" use anything like a knife or whatever to scrape the bottom of the tray as it will destroy the finish and keep the ice cubes sticking.

When I had the warranty service come out, the technician explained what happened to the tray (calcium). He replaced the tray but the next time it happened I used the vinegar and baking soda. I eventually bought a new tray for 1/2 the price on the internet when the problem happened later on in life.

Dumping ice

If heater element is open the newly made cubes will stick to the tray and not be pushed out by the fingers doing the ejecting.

There is a heater in the ice tray that is supposed to thaw the cubes a little bit so they don't stick to the edge of the tray. When the heater does not work the ice sticks and the motor wont dump them out. Ice maker problems are almost always a problem. Sometimes I will locate an issue and fix it and then it will work for a short period and then break again. So, now I just replace the ice maker as a general rule. This is much more likely for success. However, the replacement ice maker is often not an exact match. And again, the this and the that sometimes causes problems. I will never accept a new customer on the grounds that I am going to fix their home ice maker. Make sure the ice machine is getter water like it is supposed to. Check the filter and the tubes. If the problem persists, get a new ice maker. If that ice maker angers you, get some ice cube trays.

Stop making ice...and water does not come out of unit. Ice seems to be frozen in upper unit that dumps into storage container.

remove unit. wash it out, remove all ice. try coating the ice cube area with some PAM NON FLAVORED spray..LIGHTLY.. usually, the ice maker is attached by a couple of screws, then you can get to the power plug, to detach and remove it. Overtime, the ice cubes will stick to the surface sometimes the PAM spray will help the ice slip out, but if it continues, you may have to replace the tray ( especially if the tray is nylon and the surface is pitted from deposits from the water- replacing the filter at least annually if not every 6 months makes them last longer) if there is no filter to the water supply, get one.

Ice cube dispenser not working

I had this problem. The root cause was that mineral deposits had built up in the ice cube tray. The ice would not "dump"... but stayed in the tray after the dump cycle. I did not catch it quickly and eventually the plastic frame broke. That was easily replaced. Inspect the ice tray to see that all cube surfaces are smooth. If there are mineral deposits, they need to be removed. Do NOT scrub with anything abraisive or you will ruin the tray. As you are looking straight on at the Ice maker, with the bin out, depress the small black retangular tab. The tray assembly will come apart to remove the tray. Rinse the tray, then fill with warm vinegar. Let it soak. You may scrub with soft cloth, finger or fingernail to remove deposits. Replace the tray and you should be in business.
