Simple problem. In all likelihood, The Vertical Output IC has failed. It will be TDA 8177. Replace. Or, it could also be that the Supply to that IC has failed. Unless you are competent in Solid State repairs, do not try this by yourself. get a professional Technician to have a look.IC should not cost more than 15-20$ pluch Tecnician fees.

Hello bashlort, The increase in voltage may be to some circuit loading being removed this is a sign that something may have increased in resistance or something may have opened in the attached circuit. Have you taken any voltage measurements in the video section of the set, if not check the voltages on the pins of the video processor IC and follow the connections up to the CRT socket, be sure to pay special attention to the focus and screen grid voltages. If those are ok check the voltages in the horizontal section including oscilloscope measurements for drive signals. Please inform me of your findings. Thank you, Shuttle83

I need a code for a Philips TV to be programmed to a living solutions remote # atc - 1688

  • Turn on the component you wish to sync to your universal remote--your television, DVD player, VCR or stereo.

  • Point the remote at the device you are programming and press the corresponding device button on the remote. These buttons are labeled "TV," "VCR", "DVD," etc. Hold the device button for three to five seconds.

  • Push the power button on the remote. This should turn on the device that you are syncing.

  • Push the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button on your remote gradually until the device that you are programming shuts off.

  • Press "OK" or "Enter" on the remote once the synced device turns off.

  • Press the device button for the component you just programmed, and hit the power button while pointing the remote at the component. If programmed correctly, the device should turn on, and you should be able to control it with your Living Solutions Universal Remote.

42 inch philips lcd no picture no sound

Sometime a no picture, no sound still has the power light or some other led blinking. The blinks might be an error code that will isolate the problem.

In general on LCD TVs with no picture, no sound, no blink code, the main power supply has failed. The capacitors weaken and when bad enough, damage the power supply.

If there is a blink code, the most, if not all of the power supply is OK and the blink code could point to the problem.

Re:"shutdown after video comes up the green power light stays on but the set will not shut down while changing channels."

Hi.

I do not think this has anything to do with logic circuits and video processing. When you stay on one channel the horizontal and vertical alignment circuit works more than if you change channels all the time.
This is just a guess, but have a look at convergence ICs. when you keep changing channels the power amp ICs (or transistors) go on and off, if one of them is defective it will overheat and shut down.
Other possibility is an internal tuner failure. Also test using a DVS or VCR.

AKAI LCT26Z4AD wont power up.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

42 plasma tv model42mf230a/37 blue light on no picture no sound

with solid blue led set could be still powering on but would need to verify by checking power supply voltages. if up and signal is present with no menu or audio would be ssb as audio amplifier, micro processor and eeprom are on that board. if voltages are not present you need to offload x and y sustain boards one at a time from power supply and check voltages and if vs comes up with either board disconnected replace that board

usually the high pitch noiese like this indicate some kind of power supply problem. The power supplies inside are called "switching power supplies" and if they're overloaded will make the kind of sound you describe. It sounds like there's a serious problem within. Probably should have it serviced.

If you had an older set, I'd say the flyback transformer has malfunctioned, but I don't think they're in todays set.

Let me know what happens... please rate accordingly.
