Hi you say the document is stuck in the printer,i will give all options available for troubleshooting here are some options

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Connect your Brother machine to the Macintosh® using a USB cable. Or connect your Brother machine to the same LAN (if you are using a network model) where the Macintosh® is connected.

Here is another solution you can try:
Even the best all-in-one printer jams occasionally, so you should become familiar with the clearing process before a paper jam stops you in your tracks. Most jams occur as the paper negotiates the turns and rollers inside the machine, so check these places first when the paper jam light starts blinking on your printer. Follow these steps to clear a paper jam on an all-in-one printer.

  • Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands or metal tools inside the chassis.

  • Step 2Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray.

  • Step 3Take off the front paper tray if the sheet got stuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammed here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

  • Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine.

  • Step 5Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine.

  • Step 6Use the carriage access door to reach a jam further inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to clear the jam.

  • Step 7Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.
  • I hope some one of these options work.

    Brother mfc-j6510dw will not scan

This may help others with scanning issues:
I just bought this and was nearly driven cracked trying to get the scanner to work as it was not talking to the PC, even though as a printer it was working fine. Realised eventually that it was just the Brother Control Centre 4 it wasn't talking to. After hours of re-installing software and updates, etc, nothing worked.
The solution: I went into Control Panel on my PC (I use Windows XP), to the Scanners and Cameras section, and in there the Brother Scanner was visible and could be used from there, Click on it to open the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard and use that. Further, by right-clicking on it and going to properties I choose the software to start when it talks to the PC. I abandoned the Brother CC4 and set it up to start the Scanner and Camera Wizard if I choose 'Scan to Image' on the scanner control panel, and to open Photoshop if I 'Scan to File' on the scanner. Works fine either way, just make sure you choose the right dpi setting to suit your needs.
Hope this helps somebody else as frustrated as I was.

Brother MFC 665CW can no longer scan since networked

That's rather normal, if your printer doesn't have scan-to-email functionality, you won't be able to scan unless you connect it via USB to a selected machine.

Brother printer/scanner - need to scan multiple pages to one doc

I suspect the scanner is not saving in .pdf format. Generally, if it scans to .tif files each page is in it's own file --- I know that can be very annoying.

Please change the scanner to save as .pdf using the following instructions:

I cant find the machine DCP-7020 but I think this machine is the same with model MFC-7420 if you have the installer CD follow these steps:

    For USB Interface Cable Users
    For Mac OS® 9.1 to 9.2
    & Software
1 Turn off and unplug the MFC from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your Macintosh, if you already connected an interface cable.
    2 Turn on your Macintosh.
3 Insert the supplied CD-ROM for Macintosh into your CD-ROM drive.
4 Double-click the Start Here OS 9.1-9.2 icon to install the printer and scanner drivers. If
the language screen appears, select your language.
5 Click MFL-Pro Suite to install.
6 Follow the on-screen instructions, and restart your Macintosh.
7 Connect the USB interface cable to your Macintosh, and then connect it to the MFC.
DO NOT connect the MFC to a USB
port on a keyboard or a nonpowered
    USB hub.
8 Plug in the power cord and turn on the MFC.
9 From the Apple menu, open the Chooser.
10 Click the Brother Laser icon.
On the right side of the Chooser, select the
MFC to which you want to print.
    Close the Chooser.
The MFL-Pro Suite, Printer driver and Scanner driver have been installed.
To install Presto! PageManager, click the
11 Presto! PageManager icon and follow the on-screen instructions.
Presto! PageManager has been installed and the installation is now complete.
You can easily scan, share and organize photos and documents using Presto!PageManager.
