Sorry Martin. We don't have a lot of choices here! After re-starting your computer, check you have enough hard-drive space if in doubt, Clear all junk in memory, close all programs running, go 'off-line' (it may require you to go back on line later to Register) Then check disk is clean and unscratched, and try to install again. If it fails you will have to return to your supplier for a replacement. good luck!

Tip

When in windows and a program doesn't install or run correctly (if at all)

Whenever you have issues running or installing software always either try right clicking the program and click "Run as administrator".
You can also try right clicking the program, click properties, then go to the Compatibility tab. Somewhere near the bottom of the window will be a check-box for "Run this program as an administrator".
In this situation if it still isn't acting right, click the check-box also for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select another version of windows.

When I go to install this program it says No Product Selected

Insert CD. When the Windows prompt that asks if you want to install or view the contents of the CD, choose the latter. Find and click on a folder named "setup." Now click "autorun." Near the very bottom of the folder will be another setup executable. Click this one. The program will install just fine!

Error 1920 installing Mcafee 8.5

Good morning! If you receive a "1920" error regarding failure to start a McAfee Service when trying to update or install Mcafee VirusScan, follow the instructions below.
WARNING: This procedure involves editing the Windows Registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Use this tool at your own risk.

Solution
  1. Uninstall McAfee VirusScan Enterprise using the "Add/Remove Programs" option in the Control Panel.
  2. If present, delete c:\Program Files\Network Associates and c:\Program Files\Common Files\Network Associates
  3. Go to the Start menu, select Run, and type regedit .
  4. Find and delete the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Install McAfee VirusScan Enterprise and update the software.
Best regards

You might need some additional program. Click the link above(or copy & paste). Might need .NET Framework 1.1 or it might just be some bugs in Vista that is not compatible with the program your trying to install. Vista still has some problems.
