Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One printer was previously connected wirelessly to my network using a WPA key configured via my control panel. Now, when I access the control panel, I only receive the option to use a WEP key. My network has always used a WPA key. I tried to use an equivalent WEP key, but that did not work either. Also, when I try to manually configure the network setting via the control panel, I can change the settings but the settings do not save.

Hello, I am using Windows XP SP3 and I did not make any changes to my network, I am using the same Airport Extreme, model A1254. On my control panel, my network SSID shows up, as it did before, but the HP will not connect wirelessly.

If I go online and use the Embedded Web Server with an ethernet cable, I can configure my settings with the WPA of my network, but again it does not transfer back to the HP.

My entire network has gone crazy since the Comcast upgrade. I had problems reinstalling the HP software back on my Sony Vaio and two of the Fixya Experts told me that they thought I had a corrupted Windows XP registry and that I should reinstall Windows. I could not figure out how to do that since I don't have an installation CD. The Sony has a pre-installed recovery/restore system.

I have Registry Mechanic installed on my computer and I thought that was supposed to keep my registry up-to-date. I had a Sony Tech do a remote diagnostic of my Sony desktop but did find any major problems.

Hi please go to the control panel open the firewall click on ADVANCE and you should see LAN connection and the wireless connection, you would see a tick in the LAN connection and none in the wireless connection, so you have to put a tick in the wireless connection then click ok, this should solve the problem.

Connecting hp712c to hp g7 notebook via netgear wnr 2000?

To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Do i need a power cord to operate the 7410

Hello,

The OfficeJet 7410 has a separate power cord and adapter (transformer) that has an output voltage of 31VDC @ 2420mA.

The original HP part number is 0950-4483 but they have a substitute part number of 0957-2145. It can be ordered from HP from this page:

HP Adapter 0957-2145

You may also be able to find one by either Googling the part numbers or if you have an eBay account search there. You may find a better deal.

Thanks for using Fixya. Please take a moment to rate this solution.

BTW, here is the main support page for your printer:

Problems connecting to printer

The Officejet 7310 does not have wireless capability, this was a feature for the Officejet 7410. If your 7310 is connected via wired LAN to a wireless router but the computer does not find it try assigning an IP address manually. Make sure the IP address for the printer is on the same subnet as your laptop or other wireless devices.

Also, if you are using Vista the original drivers will not work, you will need to download updated drivers from HP's website here.

How to hook up this printer wireless to my main computer

Hi jjank740;

First off, did you try to recycle your printer? Turn it off and back on again. Sometimes power outages can disconnect that printer. If that doesn't work. Go to the printer and access the system network configuration on the led panel. Type in the WEP number and password again, and let it search for the connection. That should do it. Once it's connected you'll see the blue wireless indicator turn on.

Good Luck

Mark
