Question about Maytag Refrigerator Light Switch - C3680310

Open Question

I need to replace the light switch in my Maytag refrigerator (RTD1900D). The switch mates with two female ports that are hard-fixed inside the refrigerator wall. The problem is the female ports can't be seen when the switch is inserted into the wall (i.e. it is a blind connection). What is the trick to make the connection of the switch into the female ports while inserting switch into the fridge wall?

SOURCE: How do i replace the light switch in my RTD1900D?

I am guessing that you mean the door switch, so: remove power then using a sharp knife slip it under the switch flange and, pry up gently then: do the same thing on the other side and all around the switch until it comes out; remove the spade wire connectors

How do I fix a cellphone that won't charge at all when it is plugged in. I've tried turning it off, taking the battery out, and everything.

It could be a problem with the female usb port on your phone. Try shining a light inside where you plug it in and see if there is anything there. Here are a few phones with the female ports where you plug in your charger.

If there is nothing in there, it could be the cord. Have you tried multiple cords and cubes (wall adapters)? Here is the iPhone version, but really all that changes is the business end of the charging cord, so it still applies.

A sign of this being the case could be the cable being able to wiggle around too much when plugged into the phone.

If these other solutions do not work, you may need to replace the female micro/mini usb port in your phone, which could be above your skill set and you may need to hire a professional, or someone who knows their way around a soldering iron.

No lights on door or inside?what could be the problem?

Kind of hard to say without being there and testing a few points along the wiring harness. The best help I can give you is a link to the schematic (wiring diagram) for your refrigerator:

I'd start with the door switch and work my way forward or backward depending on what I see at the switch's leads.

Good luck!

We have an 18-year old maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The freezer works but the refrigerator is no longer cooling. This occured yesterday. Over about the last three weeks there was some build up of ice...

Hello, usually means the defrost timer isn't working often enough....there is a small hole that is open between the freezer side and fridge side that will clog with ice ....you need to defrost this hole....its at the bottom of the freezer just inside the door....try this first but you may need a new timer also.

Thanks

I have my female usb part for my external hard

You can get these parts from any good electrionic parts suplier eg Maplin, Mouser, RS components, etc but need to be competent at soldering.

You could just get another enclosure

Or you could remove the drive and install it inside a pc that has a suitable interface

Plenty of options
