Question about Leica Cameras

1 Answer

I am having difficulty in getting bracketing to work. on my M9. I think there must surely be something I am - or am not doing. I really have only one question, to which I can't find the answer. I set bracketing on, set the number of exposures, set for sequence (0/+/- for instance), choose the stops (i.e., IEV). But then whether I press the button only once or five times I get absolutely identical photographs - i.e., the camera does not seem to be taking five photographs and amalgamating them. So what is going on? I would be extrenmely grateful for help.

Here is the sequence Leica suggests for the auto-bracking. Seems one mode is just a bit opposite of your setting, maybe that's the difference:

The M gets bracketing

The M9's auto bracketing feature is really, really cool. In the menu, you select the number of frames, either 3, 5 or 7, the sequence (-/0/+ or 0/-/+) and the EV steps (0.5, 1, 1.5, or 2EV). In the SET menu, you have the option to turn bracketing on or off. Just turn this option to On and press the shutter release, or do as I do and use the 2 sec self-timer. The camera automatically shoots the bracketing sequence just by varying shutter speed. I did notice, though, that when shooting at night, the camera opted to shoot a sequence one image short. I discovered that the last shot would have required a shutter speed longer than 32 seconds, which is the maximum in A mode. So, I don't classify this as a bug, just something to be aware of.
So as not to plagiarize, here's the web sit for that info:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

I think you need to replace the front door interlock switch ( very common part ), and then take some time and adjust the bracket for a really good positve closure on the switch....leave the display panel off during this adjustment so you can get a good look at the switch closure. There is no factory adjustment on the bracket- you might have to bend part of the bracket to get a good closure. Open and close the front door a couple of times just to be sure and there you go. This front door interlock switch is a common failure on the 7033, 7040, and 7045's and will give you all kinds of crazy symptoms.

I have a cobra 29 ltd classic that didn't work in

You say you are getting no sound, do you mean that you do not even get static?

Here is a couple of things you can do:

1. Make sure the CB/PA switch is in CB
2. Switch the NB/ANL switch to off
3. Turn the squelch all the way counter clockwise
4. Turn the RF Gain all the way clockwise

With all of the settings like this, you should at least get static if the antenna, coax, and coax connector into the radio pc board is good.

You can make sure the antenna is not grounding out to the antenna bracket. Make sure the plastic ferule (usually white or black) is mounted on the top of the bracket, under the coupler with the lip facing down. This is used to insulate the antenna from the bracket. If the antenna itself is grounded out to the vehicle, it will be like you have no antenna at all.

If you look at the picture I attached, you will notice a small white piece on top of the mounting bracket.

Did the CB tech make sure you have a good ground plane? This is accomplished by making sure the antenna mounting bracket is grounded to the vehicle and the plastic ferule is on the top of the bracket, not under.

2002 Oldsmobile Aurora blower motor. The old one is out, yes it was tough. The new motor bracket will NOT fit in. What is the trick to setting it in place? Without breaking the bracket?

I replaced mine with an exact replacement...not sure what bracket you are talking about. In any case it was REALLY tough to get the new one back in. I had to pull the carpet out of the way and really work to find a way to get it in. It has to go in the way the old one came out.

Replaced hard drive in Toshiba Tecra M9. refuses to re

Look on the back edge of your old HDD where all the gold pins are and on one side there is a group of 4 pins in two rows of two... and see if there is a tiny jumper installed across two of them (white or black about 1/8" tall and 1/16th wide).

Now look on the new HDD and see if there is one there. The NEW HDD must be set up exactly like the OLD one or it won't be detected by BIOS or Windows.

I am beginning to think your LT has the CD as MASTER and the HDD as SLAVE, which may require adding or removing a jumper. Some new ones come with, some without ;-) I didn't think of this earlier

Check that. Email me the result

I have the same player. The AC cord I use just plugs in, there is no transformer or anything. I am not sure what to tell you - just the cord has the following printed on it, not sure if that will help.

I hope this helps.

Check engine light stays on

Take it to a parts store like Autozone or Advance. Also any maintenance shop. They can run a check on the engine light to get a code. The code will tell you what the computer thinks is the problem. My Toyota, it was the oxygen sensor, which looks like a spark plug and is attached to the exhaust system. I would also just look around and see if there is something else that is not connected. Could be a wire connection or a hose, a loose vacuum hose can make a big difference in the performance.

How do i know when snowboard bindings are tight enough (hand tightening screws to board)?

I would think that you could pull out the inserts or break a screw if you got them too tight. I would suggest only using a screwdriver type handle for tightening - no ratchet or other leverage. Just get them as tight as you can with one hand and you should be OK. They don't really need to be that tight - it is more coming apart that is the problem. The other problem is rusting. Both of these problems can be solved by using a high quality tread locking compound - the best is LocTite. Most stores that carry hardware will carry threadlock compound - this will prevent the bindings from loosening up.
