SOURCE: paper jam light constantly on.

i got this suggestion off of This was the suggestion: what you can try is, take a piece of ~70lb cardstock, and with the POWER OFF, gently push this through the paper-path of the printer - this will help to possibly reset that switch, and will help push anything else out that's in the way that may be blocking it. After trying everything else suggested on other sites, i tried this and it worked. I used a piece of 90 lb. drawing paper, and it took a fair amount of force to push it through. After pushing for a bit, i opened the cover and used a tweezers to pull the piece of paper the rest of the way through (and it didn't rip because it's 90lbs.). Then i turned the printer back on and the error message was gone.

SOURCE: paper jam light constantly on.

The suggestion with the heavy stock paper worked. I used a vanilla folder but this was not heavy enough so I simply folded it in half. I had the problem where it would feed 1 sheet of paper in the auto sheet feeder upon starting the printer up. This is unusual in itself. The single sheet of paper would go through normally. But with the vanilla folder, as it was going through, I heard a loud sound like a contraption somewhere was being reset or dislodged or relodged or relocated from some stuck position. After the sound, the green light came on no problem and it all worked. Try something not so heavy like a vanilla folder that has been trimmed down. Then fold it. You might have to hold it up against the black roller wheel to get it to engage the roller wheel when you turn the printer on. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: printer keeps saying paper jam..there is no paper jam

You can also try using a rubber eraser as the rollers are going. Just take a pencil and lightly rub along the length of the rollers as they are feeding. This should remove the film that clogs the rollers surface.

Paper jammed at exit rollers of Canon D860. Paper

If you remove the plastic covers on that side of the printer, you will see a small screw holding a bar against the rollers. Set the printer on end so you can remove this screw with out dropping it into the printer, and then the rollers will be loose enough that you can get the paper out.

My canon i9900 says thatthere is a paper jam but i have opened it up, looked everywhere and there was nothing in it. i uplugged it, took out the battery and re-set. what else can it do?

Just a suggestion- you might have to disassemble it to the point where you can see the individual gears that run the paper roller. Sometimes when a paper jam occurs, the motor and gears are still trying to feed the paper, and a gear tooth will break or jam. In this case, the "brain" of the machine still thinks the paper is jammed, since it isn't feeding, and displays the paper jam message. If it's a broken tooth on a gear, you will have to find a replacement gear for it. I had this problem once, and found another discarded printer a friend had, and got the gear out of it. You might be able to get a replacement gear from an Authorized Canon Repair Facility- if you google that, you will have some places to try. Good luck, this is a common problem with the plastic gears they use.

I have a serious paper jam that can't be cleared the normal way. I removed the ink cartridge but the paper jam was hidden under a roller that I couldn't get at.

Short of taking it apart, you can usually remove the cartridge and start turning the gears that are visible to move the paper path rollers. (They are hard to turn though...) Make sure you've undone all the paper path clearing doors, hinges, etc. Good luck.

I been having a paper jam?

There can be twofault one is that the Roller of your printer has have got smooth and is not capable of taking in the paper properly another can be that the power to your printer is num. I would suggest you to try get it serviced if the service wont work then you might need to replace the paper roller.

Canon MP220 printer. when i load the paper it starts to go to one side, a rustling sound then paper just gets stuck

I had same problem. Lift up Scanner section and check along white paper feed rollers with torch. I could see something between rollers and bottom roller bar. Lifted up that section of white roller with two small flat bladed screwdrivers. This revealed a " Sweet Rapper" jammed under rollers.Removed printer now ok.

Canon Pixma iP1500 printer indicates paper jam

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Canon i9900 blinking three orange / jam

I had the same problem with my i9900 - 3 orange flashes on the the error light (Paper Jam) and yet I could slip a sheet of paper in and it would feed through OK. My problem is that the SPRING on the PAPER SENSOR had come off, leaving the sensor in the where it would be if there was a paper jam.

You have to REMOVE the main cover of the printer to find and fix this problem You have to find all of the release points (look for triangles on the plastic covers) where you insert a small tool/screwdriver to (1) press 1 release each side & remove the 2 silver end panels, (2) press 1 release to remove the control switch & carefully disconnect the two connectors inside. Start with the triangle rlease on the lower front left of the main cover, then 1 on the left side, 3 on the back, 1 on the right side, and finally 1 on the lower front right side and gently lift the whole cover off.

You can then look inside with a flashlight from the top rear just behind the left side paper feed roller and see a small switch which pivots when paper is fed through the printer. Feed a sheet of paper and see if the spring is returning it to the normal (no jam) position. I used a long pair of tweezers to reach inside and slip the spring back into its normal position which is behind the small slot on the far right side of the switch. No pictures, but it should be intuitive where the spring should go. Once reinstalled, the switch will move back to the normal position and your paper jam should be fixed.

This SAME MECHANISM is also used in a number of other Canon i & ip series printers so this general approach to fixing this in other models could be the same - (1) remove the cover, (2) locate the switch, and (3) put the spring back into the correct positiion.
