Text messaging with an i730

first delete all the message from your phone memory...
Then call your mobile service provider and get the Message center number, because it varies according to the circle where your mobile service is located and it is not an unique number....!

Then check if you are able to send messages properly, and check if the messages are sent back to your inbox...

Do you have the message center number that it's sent through.. Go to menu, messages, settings, and text message and see if this number works. +13123149810

Click on messaging icon from main menu.
Click send message.
Instead of clicking text message click on pic/video message.
then you have 4 options TO: CONTACTS , TO Mobile#, To Email, And finally To Recent lict. Click on recent list and checkmark all the numbers you want deleted then click options bottom right corner then click delete.....
All finished hope this helps.

I have seen this issue MANY times before, what I can recommend for this exact problem, is to Reset to Defaults. Which will delete all your Downloads/contacts/saved info. This option should be located in menu-settings-security, password should be 000000 unless you have modified it. the option will either be, Restore Defaults, or Reset to Defaults.

How can I use the messaging features on my Motorola phone? To send a text message:

• Enter your Message menu
• Scroll to Create Message and Select
• In the To: field, either enter a telephone number**, e-mail address**, or Browse your Phonebook, Received or Dialed Calls list.
  
• Enter your message in the MSG: field
• Select done when you have completed the To: and MSG: fields
• Confirm that you would like to send the message now

To Insert Objects In Text Message while composing a text message - Select Menu, and then Insert
To use MMS Template open an MMS template with preloaded media - Select M, Messages, Create Message, and then PIX Templates
To read a new text or multimedia message that you have received - Press Read (Right Soft Key).
To Store Message Objects - Go to a multimedia message slide, or highlight an object in a letterand select Menu, and then Store
To send or create a quick note message - Select Menu, Messages, and then Quick Notes
To view sent messages - Select Menu, Messages, and then Outbox
To read received messages - Select Menu, Messages, and then Inbox
Tip: Press Menu to perform various operations on the message.
To view messages saved in drafts folder - Select Menu, Messages, and then Drafts
To delete all messages or only messages from the Outbox or drafts folder: Select Menu,; Messages, and then Cleanup Messages

I took a wack at it and it took me an hour to figure it out. Okay where is the way go to the messaging menu choose send message then go to Voice SMS okay then choose Recent List there you should see the recent contact you have texted to select the ones you want to delete and press options there you can delete the selected or delete all.

go to net in the menu and go to text messaging and you should be able to go form there

When first turned on, select "messages." then down arrow to inbox or outbox. Select choice. For outbox, down arrow to SENT. Select. Hit the center button. scroll down twice to delete the one message. Scroll down once more to delete ALL messages from the sent outbox. Confirm and out they go!

Now, does anybody know how to email text messages so they can be saved?

do this, it should prove very helpful, go to messages then you can delete any messages you want, with the address do same thing. Let me know how it goes, Thanks

thank u so much for trying to help. I guess my message wasnt clear enough though. The phone is not storing my "messages", I'm not having a problem with that, I can clear them, no problem. Its the "recent log" under the "add recipients" that does not clear. The "recent log" stores all the numbers you ever text messaged to. I want to clear the #'s that I've text messaged to, not regular calls, thats easy to clear. For some reason this phone stores all the #'s that you text to. If you can figure it out, i'll give u a million dollars!!! just joking of course.
