This is due to CPU Usage, In order for it to run smoothly you would need to terminate other applications while this application is running

Or Upgrade your CPU, Its best open task manager using CTRL + ALT + DELETE, click processes and then locate the ones using too much cpu and memory and terminate them if you do not need them to run while you are using this application.

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it? Do that first and see if that makes a difference.
thank you,
Lee

I've done this. But that was a couple of years ago when I was creating another DVD. It was slow then, and it's still slow now.

So has the program always run slow since you first installed it? If so then it may be a factor with your computer itself. What are the specs of your computer? You may want to consider using nero as it is less resource intensive.
    Thank you,

I wonder if I have correct system requirements. Windows 7, Pentium 4 CPU 2.40 GHz, 2.39 GHz, 1.50 GB RAM. What do you think? Oh, and 15.7 GB free space on my hard disk.

You have had windows 7 on it for a couple of years? Also is this a single core processor? Is it onboard video? if its single core processor that could be the issue. Also follow this link and make sure you have the latest version, if not update it.

Beyond all of this your options are limited besides trying a different product like nero, or getting a new computer. If you need further assistance please let me know.
    thank you,
    Lee

Oh no, sorry, it's XP Service Pack 3! Don't know where I got Windows 7. Please ignore that.
Meanwhile, what is a single core processor, or is that irrelevant now that you know it's Windows XP?

  • Alice Johnson Jul 28, 2010

Also, I have downloaded and installed the latest update for EMC10.

So did you update it? and how did that go? I didn't give up on you I just can't be at a computer 24/7. Hope you will reconsider and accept/rate my solution accordingly.
    Thank you,
    Lee
