Getting the pads replaced and the waste counter reset is a lot easier on the PX700W but the service centers are still charging a fair bit for it.

I'm biased as I supply the waste kits but fitting an external waste kit is pretty easy, fully documented on wasteink.co.uk and with the reset software being freely available you can have the whole thing back up and running again within half an hour.

Whatever you do though, don't just reset and forget about it, as the ink will build up in the pads if you don't find replacement pads or an external tank.

Hope that helps.

Replaced black ink but will not print in black epsom CX5500

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Why have my ink pads come to an end already and how do you change them i have an epson px700w?

Hi

You do not say which operating system you are using.

You do not say if you are using original Epson branded or compatible generic brand cartridges.

You do not say if the printer is new and if this is your first cardtridge change, or not.

Sometimes the cartidges that come with the printer are low volume, starter cartridges. The 2 types of cartridges have slightly different codes to distinguish them.

Some people prefer generic brand, compatible cartridges, which are generally cheaper but can be of inferior quality and some can contain inferior quality ink. Others prefer original Epson branded cartridges, which can be more expensive.

Some Epson printers can take both economy volume and high volume cartridges.

In Windows operating systems, generally:

Start > (Control Panel) > Printer(s) > right click on Epson PX700W icon > Printing Preferences > Maintenance > Ink Cartridge Replacement > follow on screen instructions > head cleaning >print test page.

or

Print a document > Print Dialog Box > click "How To..." > Maintenance > Ink Cartridge Replacement > follow on screen instructions> head cleaning >print test page.

How do i replace the ink pads in my epson stylus photo px700w?

Hi monte245,
You wont need to replace the pads you only need to take them out wash and dry them thoroughly.
The pads will be located in the bottom of the printer so you may need to remove the screws in the bottom, then placing it back down the right way up so you can lift the top off.. The pads will make a mess so do it near a sink and put something down to protect everything close to you.
Your printer may have a new addition of a trapdoor for easy ink pad removal but I'm not 100% sure as I haven't had a close up look at this printer.
The problem you'll still have though is finding the epson ink pad reset software, i've looked everywhere and cant find anything which supports your printer but you could try it anyway.
Here's the link to the SSC utility: http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html I've had a look for an easy guide but there is one for your model of printer.
Good luck and I hope it works

Sx405 will not recognise any cartridges . even epsom cartridges. at the moment i have 1 cartridge. black, not epsom, in the printer, but will not recognise any of the other colors

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

I located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

How do i reset the epson px700w?

Hi

You can purchase a service manual and the service program for your printer from.http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=56

the computer program is used to reset the waste ink counter, follow instructions in the service manual to first replace the ink pads, only then reset the waste ink counter with the service software for your model.

It would be recommended to take this to a epson service center, but you may do this at home if you wish.

Thanks,
SF

My Epson PX700W will print on paper but when I press to PrintCD it says the printer driver is missing

Since CD labeling is not a universal printer feature, there will be a specific section of the PX700W driver that will differ from the more standard printer features and enable this feature. If you have the original installation CD from Epson, reinstall as if new, to see if this helps. If you have updated your operating system (OS), the old driver may simply not work and you will have to download a new driver for that version of OS from the Epson website.

Epsom stylus C66 inkjet printer

Hi

This problem is probably caused by a blockage in the ink waste pads. Over time, particularly with increased nozzle cleans the pads get saturated. These can be replaced by an Epson Engineer at a cost of about £30-£40 but probably more effective to buy a new printer. This usually happens when the printer is between 2-5 years old.

Hope this helps
