Question about DaVinci Emily Crib

1 Answer

Lowering the mattress

We are not able to lower the mattress to the lowest level when using the Emily crib. The horizontal wood bar at the bottom front of the crib prohibits us from using the last bottom screw hole on the crib. I have a fifteen month old and she is already trying to climb out. I think lowering the mattress can help. Is it possible to use the bottom screw hole on the crib when using it as a crib, or is the bottom screw hole supposed to be used for the guard rail when converting the crib to a toddler bed. Thank you!!

I have a Bright Future for Baby Melanie wooden baby crib (product # 343-7407); how do you unhook the brackets in order to lower the mattress without disassembling the entire crib?

A:You remove the dropside by removing the bumpers and lowering. Then you loosen the screws on th wooden bar under the mattress base without taking apart . If necessary loosen the screws on the frame, but should only be necessary if the mattress base was put in with the straight hooks facing you. In any case you should not need to completely take apart, but still a pain!

I need to lower the base to its lowest setting but not sure how ?

Remove the mattress. in all for corners you should see metal arms that are attached to the mattress support. these arms will be screwed into brackets on the crib. Unscrew all four screws and re-screw them into the lowest hole available. replace mattress and your done.

No directions to assemble a Simmons crib model 2746 76 219

Most of the cribs that you buy have directions on the bottom of the mattress board on how to assemble. They might not be word for word, but its pretty informative. Hey, it does have pictures! LOL

If its like mine, you just remove the front panel that went up and down. Then lower the wood mattress support to the lowest level. You are now ready for the toddler bed. Once you want to convert to a double bed frame. You have to purchase a metal frame that holds the bed. Then attach the back and the front to the metal frame. This should like a sleigh bed. Good Luck, Nicol

Childesigns carrollton crib

I am not familiar with this crib, but I have been through many cribs and they all (so far) are adjustable to lower the mattress. You can figure it out by removing the mattress and matress board and inspecting the way the board is connected to the frame. Often there is a bar or rung that sits in a clip or groove at each corner of the crib just below the matress board. You may have to crawl underneath and look up at it. Usually you will be able to lower the platform without using tools, but be sure to take the weight off the platform by removing the mattress and board. Good luck.
